I put butyl tape first, then pilot holes, then Dicor, then bracket, then completely covered in Dicor. I have found that putting the Eternabond over the Dicor at the end protects the Dicor from the sun and drying out... plus, one more barrier that extends just a little further out.
No, it...
Is it this one... Post in thread 'CATL 310AH Grade A Prismatic cells from Basen' https://diysolarforum.com/threads/catl-310ah-grade-a-prismatic-cells-from-basen.17359/post-249612
No, I am talking about a ground from the negative bus to the chassis of the RV. It should be the size of your largest DC cable. You also need the smaller chassis grounds off the cases of the components if they require it. Look at any Victron system schematic, explorist life schematic, or...
So, I reconsidered some things and went back to the drawing board for the whole thing. I decided to add the Cerbo GX and use the canbus for the BMS to talk to the Victron components. I also added the trickle charge from the MP to an AGM battery for the breakaway. Below is where I am at the...
Well, they are all finished... They didn't all end up exactly the same at the 0.00A mark for some reason, even though the setting was the same verified by DMM. 3.589, 3.586, 3.585, 3.583 from the first set of 3 to the last. Guess the cheap power supply was getting tired... I'm calling them...
I changed to the meter that Will suggested - it was much cheaper and seems good enough.
Thank you for the offer! But, like you said, I will need the stripper and crimper for other things - plus the smaller sizes I will use in my toolset for the camper. It is the bigger ones that seem a lot of...
Did you get yours yet?? Still waiting on mine, but being told in another thread that the QR codes are fake and they are not going to be good cells... I hope they are wrong... ?
It is charging from my Orion DC-DC charger.
My DC power for the RV comes off of the secondary contactor of my REC Active BMS. If I add another MPPT, I will move the Orion to the secondary contactor as well.
I ended up getting them from the same place you did. In the end, with shipping and customs, they are almost the same price as the other ones on Aliexpress - but since you knew of the supplier and quality, I went with the same ones you did.
**Edit... made changes marked with **
My system so far consists of a DIY LiFePO4 bank of twelve 310Ah cells in 3P4S for 12V, a REC Active BMS, a Multiplus II 2x 120V, a Cerbo GC, and an Orion 12/12-30A DC-DC Charger. I am setting up with conservative charging settings to maximize cycles...
I have six 350W Hanwha Q panels on mine, and plan to add four 210W panels. I just saw the above for the 215W panels from HD, but unfortunately they are sold out now...
Simple is best for me... I'm already concerned about burning my 5th wheel up...?
I planned to use a quick connect plug on the big wires in my bed right by my 7 pin plug. I was also planning to use a Victron Orion 360W, and a 40A fuse like you mentioned.
I am trying to figure options for bulk charging my cells when they come in, before top balancing. I plan to get a 10A power supply for top charging, but realize it would take forever. The only charger I currently have is the one in my camper now. But, I don't believe I can configure my new...
Complete newb here... based on this, am I correct in thinking that if I go with a 3000W Victron inverter and have three 310aH 12V battery packs in parallel - if I use a 120A BMS on each of the packs, I am covered for the maximum capacity of the inverter? Or do I have to go with the peak of the...
That's only 6 inches... going to be tough to get it that short. I don't understand why it is different than the other cables - is it because it is mid bank?
I had the switch there, but someone suggested putting it first in case the fuse needed changed - it would make it easier. I can put it back if need be.
My generator is in the back of my truck and if I use it, it is with the shore power cord and 50/30 adapter. I wanted the truck charge for...
Thank you for the explanation! I have not even gone to 3.6 (3.585), so I feel better... this can all be overwhelming for a newbie... I understand why most people just buy off the shelf, but I couldn't afford that and my system too... At least I am learning, and challenge is good... just...
If the REC contactor is cutting power to the Lynx, do I need another contactor? I thought that would disable all discharging.
I do have the slides and levelers off of one Lynx output, and the load center 12V loads off of another Lynx output. I'm not following you .
I haven't totally figured...
I was going with 3 before, when I thought one 200A BMS would work for each 310aH 4S pack.
Speaking of making it a really big battery, will the busbars that come with the cells work for configuring 3P4S? Or do I need something else?
My roof is cluttered, so mine are going to be a combination of directions. I will get more pictures when I can get back to work on it... weather doesn't look good for most of the week here. I used these Z brackets at the 4 panel manufacturer mounting points. I thought about adding one in the...
I was being told "charge controllers can not be switched off of the battery. The contactor or the connection of them is at the wrong place." I didn't believe that was true.
