Has anyone successfully mapped out what the other connections are on this JBD BMS? Apart from the comm and balance lead connections?
Looking from left to right on mine, I see:
CANBUS?
CANH
CANL
GND
Mystery
B
A
Mystery
"SW" with 2 terminals
Comm port - TTL? what baud?
VDD

I received my MPP Solar PIP-1012 MS today. ordered via https://usa-mpp-solar.com. Same guy, Ian, who sells on ebay as "usa-mpp-solar". Total cost was $339 - which is cheaper than the ebay price. (y)
thanks @JoseAgustinV . I ordered and just received one of these units. And yeah, as you described, the MPPT is active regardless of whether the rocker switch is on or off. The MPPT seems to power itself off when PV voltage drops below batt voltage. So the rocker switch only controls the inverter...
Thanks @JoseAgustinV. might be a dumb question, but: to turn the inverter off, you are rolling the rocker switch to off? And the lcd panel goes dark? But it appears to keep on charging your battery via the mppt? Thanks!
Hello! I see @Will Prowse loves these units :) but also see that he points out a high standby load on the inverter (15W for the 800/1000W units). Is it possible to turn the inverter off while still having the unit charge batteries via the mppt solar charger? or is the on/off button an all or...
Has anyone tried this JBD 150A (200A peak) 4s lifepo4 BMS? It appears to be a 150A variant of the BMS Will recommends. Same manufacturer (JBD). Different PCB layout. No included cables - but big pads to solder your own. Same bluetooth/app support. Smaller heat sink - which is concerning.
A "normally closed" (NC) relay passes power when the relay is not energized. which is unlike a NC valve in piping ... which does not pass flow.
A "normally open" (NO) relay passes power when the relay is energized. which unlike a NO valve... which does pass flow.
The stock Chargery relays are...
Found this LittleFuse item, which looks like a close cousin of the Blue Sea HD latching relays. But not finding it to be any cheaper:

That's a pretty important switch on a boat. Accidentally press that switch and ALL you DC is offline. All you navigation equipment, nav lights, interior lighting, etc... that panel probably belongs under a protective cover.
I would like to implement an audible alarm when the BMS takes the battery offline. conceptually, this might be a normally-closed (NC) relay taking signal from B+ to P- and the relay output could switch an alarm that takes power from B+ to B- (or uses an independent power source). When the BMS...
I think the Blue Sea 7713 has that behavior. while positive voltage is on the control cable, the relay remains "on". When positive voltage on the control cable is lost, the relay shifts to "off". It is a mechanical latching relay - and I recon it is using power from the protected battery to...
