You seem friendly! Yep, read a bunch but still have some outlying questions.
  • Post in thread: LiFePO4 - how far to drain

Thanks again. Glad I splurged for the LiFePO over lead acid.
  • Post in thread: Installing 120V AC Wall Outlets in Van

I tossed out those cables it came with. Using 4/0 with UL rated copper lugs. No issues there
  • Post in thread: Testing LiFePO4 health

Bought them brand new, unused. Been sitting for a couple months. Drop in? Not sure if I get your meaning. I did not purchase individual cells and put them together if thats what you mean. I'm not sure. This is my very first time dealing with batteries like this. All I have on me is a...

    Thank you
  • Post in thread: Installing Sterling B2B - grounding question

Mike, Thanks for your advice. I do have a couple questions. I would feel better about foregoing the ground (For my 12v system) and running a wire from starter battery neg to house battery neg. Buying the extra wire does not bother me. To be clear..will it be an issue if i run the starter...
  • Post in thread: Installing 120V AC Wall Outlets in Van

maybe I wasn’t asking clearly. I’m definitely not suggesting messing with the internals of the inverter. I’m wondering about using essentially a one sided 3 prong cable connected to a wall outlet. So essentially just extending one of the outlets which are already on the inverter. doesn’t sound...
  • Post in thread: Installing 120V AC Wall Outlets in Van

thank you. I’ll look into that. definitely no rewiring of the inverter haha. The thought also makes me shudder. Brand new to electricity and I have quickly learned to understand my own limitations.
  • Post in thread: Setting up charge controller for LiFePO4

Hi guys, I just wanted to post a follow up to say a big Thank You! to this forum and everyone who responded. With your help, I was able to set up my charge controllers and my panels/controllers/batteries are doing excellent. What a great feeling to be basically finished with the electrical...
  • Post in thread: Batteries with Anderson Powerpoles. Wiring terminal posts/studs to battery

Eyelets directly off of the battery cell wires? Not that I disagree, I've just never seen that. It's always posts/studs. I agree quick connect seems pretty cool, but too expensive for my taste.
  • Post in thread: LiFePO4 - how far to drain

Thank you. Mine are in a full time van conversion and will be used daily. Will damage occur if I am regularly draining beneath 50%?
  • Post in thread: Setting up charge controller for LiFePO4

Hi guys, Another beginner here having trouble setting up the charging profile for my batteries. Batteries are in place, panels are set up (on my van). Turns out I have no idea how to set up the profile and research has only been more confusing. Here's what I am working with: Charge...
  • Post in thread: Installing Sterling B2B - grounding question

Thanks for this recommendation.looks like the smarter way to go for my setup
  • Post in thread: Testing LiFePO4 health

Yep sorry. It is reading 13.3. What do you think?
  • Post in thread: Installing Sterling B2B - grounding question

Hi guys, Looking to install a Sterling BB1260 in my Sprinter van. My house battery bank is made up for (2) 200Ah 12V LiFePO4 in parallel for a 400Ah 12V bank. This bank is a floating system, nothing is grounded to the vehicle chassis. All of the electrical devices connect to my pos and neg bus...
  • Post in thread: Testing LiFePO4 health

Haha yeah i'm an idiot. I had the multimeter on AC..oops. Both batteries reading about 13.3V
  • Post in thread: Installing Battery Shunt Question

Hi Guys, Installing the battery shunt for my Renogy 500A Battery Monitor and want to make sure I'm doing it correctly. Here is the screenshot from the user manual: User Manual Shunt Install Mostly makes sense..what I'm unsure about is where to install the B+ wire. So it says to wire the one...
  • Post in thread: Testing LiFePO4 health

Yes that's the plan. To parallel connect for a 12v system. Please correct me if I'm wrong but all I should have to do with a multimeter is switch it to Volts and touch red to red and black to black for a reading, right?
  • Post in thread: 3000 Watt Inverter to Wall Outlet?

Hi guys, I have a 3000 W Pure Sine Inverter installed in my Van conversion. I'm wondering if I can install at least a couple of 120V AC wall outlets. And I would like to understand how to connect the outlet(s) to the inverter. My inverter is this one here: GoWise 3000W Inverter It has 3...
  • Post in thread: Testing LiFePO4 health

Cool. More dumb beginner questions...so I should avoid connecting them in parallel for now. And charge each individually to 100%? Is charging via solar okay or would you charge them some other way first? They are EWT Batteries purchased from Alibaba. The theory I went with was that they are the...
  • Post in thread: Installing 120V AC Wall Outlets in Van

Hi Guys, Looking to understand how to wire connect 1 or 2 120V AC wall outlets to my system. I have a 3000W Inverter (it has 3 outlets on it). This is it here: GoWise 3000W Inverter How exactly would I accomplish this? Thank you
  • Post in thread: Does my PCM include temp protection

Hi guys, I am wondering if my batterys PCM will be sufficient for protecting from charging/discharging in cold temps. I'm in Chicago and approaching the cold season. My batteries (2x 200AH 12v LiFePO4) are mounted in a Van-RV conversion. There's some climate control in there with a diesel...
  • Post in thread: Testing LiFePO4 health

:) Thanks! I did have just one more. Do I need to avoid connecting them in parallel until I have charged each to 100%?
  • Post in thread: Setting up charge controller for LiFePO4

Thanks very much for the response. Interesting note about potentially having too much charge if one battery's BMS ever went down. Not sure what I would do to prevent that. I'll give this profile a try and see how things go!
  • Post in thread: Testing LiFePO4 health

Thanks for answering the beginners dumb questions. I'm trying to test them but its weird..i'm not getting a steady reading. If you were in my position, what would be your next step if a solid reading does not come back?
  • Post in thread: Testing LiFePO4 health

    200Ah each.
  • Post in thread: Does my PCM include temp protection

Argh. Yes, they are sealed. That's too bad there is not an easier option to attach a BMS. I'm using EPEver MPPT trace SCCs that certainly have a port for a temp sensor. A quick google search says you can program them to stop charging at low temp. Maybe I'll look into that. Thanks
  • Post in thread: Testing LiFePO4 health

Haha..damn things brand new, it better be working. I'll keep trying..not sure why it wouldnt be reading anything. Thank you for the responses, I really appreciate it.
  • Post in thread: Testing LiFePO4 health

Okay. WHat did you mean when you said charge both batteries to 100% before connecting them? Thank you for the reminder that pos/neg should not be attached to one battery.
  • Post in thread: Does my PCM include temp protection

Protection circuit module. My understanding is a PCM is a more limited and basic version of a BMS.
