Ah, I see. And I got it working. I asked SA and got this response: :"In the configuration tab under Inverter, click disconnect, select both usb cables, click connect.".
And that worked (with a regular USB cable). So problem solved.
Thanks anyway for letting me "hijack" this topic for a short...
It did the trick. Thank you!
Apparently I have to switch on the Growatts one AFTER the other, while waiting for Growatt 1 tot finish booting. And THEN switch on Growatt 2.
What I did was switching on Growatt 1, and after 2 seconds, switching on Growatt 2.
I will explain below what I did, just...
The thing is that I have these Growatts now almost one year and there have been several occasions that they stopped powering the house. Sometimes an error occurs and then instead of sending grid to the house, it completely stops and it leaved the house powerless. It's pretty frustrating when...
I have the same setup and same question, only with 2 Growatt inverters. I only see 1 inverter in SA.
So I guess I need to connect the second Growatt inverter to the pi as well via USB.
Question: is the USB cable from the inverter to the pi a normal USB cable? In other words: do regular USB...
Awesome @sunshine_eggo! Now THAT is helpful. Thank you so much 🙏
I assume the VE.Bus from unit 1 to VE.Bus of unit 2 to Cerbo VE.bus (2 total cables, "daisy chained") are 'normal' RJ45 ethernet cables?

Yes, I'm sure. When the sun is up (can't show it now, because it's night time here in Spain), I see for example 2500 Watts coming from solar.
Then 2kW is going to the batteries. The house needs 1kW. So 500 Watts from solar goes to the house AND 500 watts is taken from the grid.
That's just an...
Hi, I just found this awesome forum, where I can finally ask questions. I'm pretty new in DIY solar, however, I do have tech background.
After searching and doing some research, I created a schematic for an off grid solar system. Can some of you please take a look at it and tell me if I'm on...
Sorry for confusing you.
It is still 1 array of 8 panels in series.
And I had 2 battery arrays. Let's call them battery banks, to prevent confusion.
So there are 2 battery banks. Each bank has 4 x 12V batteries, making 48 V, 260Ah.
Both banks are parallel connected to double the capacity to...
@MisterSandals, aha. Good point. I've looked it up. The Voc is indeed 49.30 V.
9 x 49.30 = 443,7 Volt, which is higher than the max input voltage of the SPF 5000.
So I guess your gut feeling is correct...
Coldest temps is around 8 degrees celsius. (night time in the winter in southern Spain.)...
Okay, how do I calculate that based on these coefficients?
Coeficient Temp. de Isc (TK Isc) 0.049 % /°C
Coeficient Temp. de Voc (TK Voc) -0.271 % /°C
Coeficiente Temp. de Pmax (TK Pmax) -0.352 % /°C
I have 8 x 12V, 260Ah batteries. 2 banks of each 4 batteries.
So each bank has 4 batteries in series.
And the 2 banks are connected in parallel.
This delivers 48V.
Its connected to a Growatt SPF5000ES and a Victron BMV 702 Battery monitor (with 3 Victron battery balancers)
To setup the...
Hi guys, I have 1 Growatt SPF5000ES with 9 450 Watt solar panels and a lead acid battery bank. It works okay, but we need more power.
So I bought 8 extra panels each 550 Watt plus an extra Growatt SPF 5000 ES.
According to the Growatt documentation, I can parallel both Growatts, extending it...
Hi, I have 5 Pylontech US3000 batteries connected parallel. But the LEDS on the front show different values.
The system (2 Growatts SPF5000ES) in parallel mode, charging this bank.
No errors at all.
What's the issue here?
Hi, thank you very much for explaining this.
For Growatt #1 I can understand this. It's getting only ~150W from solar. But Growatt 2 is getting ~1584W from solar.
The total load is just ~505W.
In total there is more solar power than the load. In my logic, Growatt #2 is charging 1262W to the...
