I would have to get my hands on another scope. The manufacturer just got back to me and seem keen to getting to the bottom of this so that is a plus. They are tracking the manufacturing dates and now think there might have been a lot of bad units. Sounds like I am not the only one having problems.
Bummed it did not show today. Going to be interesting trying to get the unit exchanged. Took a long time to come in and it was already inspected. Likely the city will require another permit fee
It is 100% not normal. Leds flicker and it tripps all the UPS's in the house, 4 in total. 1 basic unit running the ONT, 1 TripLite running network switches, 1 Cyberpower on a server and another Cyberpower on the main desktop PC. We have a Panamax on some equipment and that takes care of the...
Ouch, not sure if there is some bad blood between you two but that does not involve me. I would have purchased an LV6548 but they were out of stock everywhere except ebay and that was too risky for me. The price difference including shipping was more in the range of 7-800 dollars though. I am in...
Low threshold of these is 5%. Dimmer can't go anything below 100%. Dimmers are 2 years for the oldest and 1 day for the newest. Good info though for others that stumble onto this.
The installer refuses to come back and swap the unit without the OK of the inspector. So I am expecting him to say I need another permit. He has been an ABSOLUTE PIA! Everything has been a fight with this guy.
Haven't had much time to mess around but I did change out the fans. Not much to report, flickering is better on constant on bulbs but still an issue with anything that dims. Going to stop throwing parts at this and see what the manufacturer comes back with (if anything).
My last message from SunGold yesterday said and I quote "Hello, we are still testing all kinds of led lights and haven't found a fixed solution for the flicker issue. We have pushed our tech department to speed up the research. Sorry for all the inconvenience that we brought to you" This is the...
I have an E2 and I am an electrical engineer by trade yet he refused to issue me a permit. I had all the required drawings and engineering reports but I am not an "experienced solar installer or a licensed company" so he refused. Long story, but after months of back and forth it was just easier...
Therein lies the million dollar question... 3 people here that have the unit have this issue along with an owner of an MPP LV6548 with YCCfans. Only commonality is the DC fans. All the review MPP units, EG4's etc all have different fans and no one is seeing these issues.
All the LEDs are high end dimmer bulbs and the dimmers are for LED's. They are flicker free on grid, generator, ecoflow delta pro and ego nexus inverters. This is the only time we ever had flickering issues in the house. The house was built in 2006 so the electrical is in good shape.
I could. I did put the scope on the output with nothing connected but DC battery in and the wave was shifting in the same manner so I don't think it will change anything. I have some edison bases but I am past the point of wanting to tinker any longer. They need to send me some proper...
What did you replace the fans with? I usually put Noctua fans in everything but when I googled the part number on the oem fans I could not find cfm specs so I was just going to request one from the manufacturer. 80mm fans are noisy to begin with but they are likely high pressure to push air...
JWalters comments about changing the fans removing the flickering for him are interesting. Since the fans are dc driven and pwm controlled I am wondering if the conducted EMI is making it's way back to ground or power which is then amplified by the inverter and showing up on the output. Using...
This is with the new inverter directly wired to the 3rd set of LED cans, no switches connected. 1 is the lights in night mode and the other is in regular.
Night Mode
Regular mode
Now imagine every light in your house doing that and you can understand my frustration. I can deal with some...
Called the number provided and it was just a google voice number to look like it was from the US. Told I have to upload videos of the problem and explain it again as she has no record of any issues with my order. Tried to explain that I have done all this and have been working with someone on...
So, I disconnected the fans from the headers before putting more money into this inverter with new fans. Same flickering and I noticed that this one flickers much more with PV input where the last one didn't. Went to HD and picked up 2 of the new Philips Hue Blueooth and Wifi bulbs.. yep flicker...
I just can't understand how it is so difficult to get proper documentation and a replacement unit. This is not rocket science. If you sell a product and claim to be the OEM for others you must know how they are to be connected.
I was reading another thread possibly in a different forum where the person had an Outback and had flickering as well. I truly hope this does not affect you. I scoured all articles relating to this so I can't remember the exact forum.
I did find some LED's that are "tolerable". I ordered title 5 Philips dimmable LED's for all the regular fixtures. They still flicker but a bit less noticeable. Likely due to the cap they installed for the dimming. I also installed their 5" can LED. Flickers like crazy for about 15 seconds then...
