What I have observed: (speaking about a 12v system)
I test every BMS with a 4 cell battery and a 3500w pure sine inverter, so I've had the chance to test this from every angle.
1. If the BMS if active but not connected to the inverter, and the inverter caps are discharged, then connecting the...
I updated my Instruction sheet with definitions for the important settings, as requested by .. someone a few pages back.
Hope its helpful: https://github.com/FurTrader/OverkillSolarBMS/blob/master/Assembly_Instructions_Package_Insert_v0.4.pdf
All, I figured out a good method for soldering and de-soldering 8ga wires on a BMS.
first I tried this torch tip:
It didn’t work, don’t waste your time.
next, I tried heating up a scrap of copper and using that to heat the solder. This works but you need extra hands. So I refined the tool by...
No extra discounts for now, as I am already struggling to keep up with the number of orders (thank you BTW)
In the future when I get over the hump I will do some special offers.
The BMS does not count coulombs, it only assumes the state of charge based on voltage. I hate that it does that.
I have 3 ideas in the works to address it.
1. a coulomb counter module that works with the existing bluetooth module.
2. a new Wifi module that includes the coulomb counter.
3. a...
A new module from my stock should work. I had this argument with the factory in the beginning, that the antenna needs to be the correct length to work properly and its already printed on the circuit board. They started cutting the wires off, which was better, and eventually switched to a new...
If you want to see charge and discharge current separately you will need 2 external shunts, otherwise it all adds up in the bus bars before the BMS has a chance to measure it.
Hi everyone, I am the seller of the 120a BMS on Amazon.
I see this thread has been going on for quite a while... if there are any unsolved questions please bring me up to speed.
We can also talk about it on my reddit sub reddit.com/r/OverkillSolarBMS
I see that some of you are having trouble...
I was able to duplicate part of your issue by unseating the balance connector:
This made the voltages go nuts up and down:
The under/over voltage counts are way up but I don't see anything changing on "battery cycles"
you should check all the balance wire connections and press reset on the app.
aww thanks guys
Will has not reviewed my BMS again because I can't supply the order volume that happens when he says my name on youtube. (I've asked him not to)
This will change soon as I have a few projects wrapping up that will let me test and calibrate the BMSs way more efficiently, and I'm...
Thusly:
.
In this way you could use 1 BMS for a fairly large bank of cells. The drawback is you lose control of over current protection for the cells. Not a problem if we can say that the cells are ok with the max inverter current.
Amazon takes a percentage of gross sales, and pays affiliates a portion of that. The payout used to be generous, now not so much.
I have an affiliate link tracker on my website that records purchases made via affiliate links, then I pay the affiliate directly.
Its a wash for me.
My concern is for the transistors not the wires. More current- more heat. If you provided active cooling I bet you could push more than that.
I am planning a series of "Torture Tests", including pushing the current higher until something pops.
Send me your wish list if you want to test...
I shared will's affiliate link with them.

Plenty in stock. I just ordered 100 more and I'm trying to get the connector installed for the shutoff switch in this batch.
