Bought a battery box from Luyuan after arranging everything with Amy.
Scattered notes:
. Amy is an excellent communicator;
. 45 day shipping deadline from China to Europe was not met ( I think that it took 10 more days)
. Box looks fantastic!!!
. Quality seems top notch
. Customization was...
From your list, I would buy only from Luyuan - consistently a good supplier.
Expect a delay on top of their claimed timings (+15 days in my case).
Would buy again (battery box in my case), but would also buy cells.
Search for Docan here in the forum... yes..., YouTubers have more luck than...
Yes, the screen cut out was slightly pushed in. As I won't have one, I'll push it back to its original place.
M6? I guess so. Those are the LF280k v2, A grade.
Thanks a lot!!
Totally understood!
It's incredible how included instructions don't pair up with the product , not even the marketing material... it's only good people like you and the ones in the forum that make all this work.
Again, thanks!
Compression is described in the cell's datasheet.
(pressure, method, materials, SOC)
As I don't have the equipment to measure the correct compression at the given SOC in a fixed fixture, I'll go with springs, which are rated for a given force.
Hi!
I'm extremely interested in your setup. Thanks for sharing!!
I'm also after a 150A - 200A BMS that could talk with the Victron MultiPlus-II 24/5000/120-50 / Venus OS.
I need to buy one or two of such BMSs as I'm waiting for 8x LF280K for a 24v battery, and after this I'll make another one...
Being in mainland Europe I'd only buy from NKON or Amy at Luyuan.
The first due to warranty and good, consistent feedback, the later for price and feedback.
Amy seems to have some interesting battery boxes, though I would check if they properly compress cells
Regarding the Seplos, there is an ongoing thread on it and clearly talks to Vitron, though at buying time you have to specify that (there are 2 versions, only one works with it).
It seems it doesn't publish DVCC, though
Once again, thanks for your view on the subject!
In order to be comparable, I think that a breaker and a battery box is mandatory.
We want similar end results.
I'm having second thoughts about using B Grade instead of A grade, as that is what I would expect inside SOK's batteries.
Again, there...
Thank you very much for the detailed information.
I'll cross your breakers' reference # and confirm that they are all non polarized, as those prices seem quite interesting.
Again, thanks!!
I'm thinking on Luyuan's, that is around that price point, delivered.
I'm about to get 2 of those, but if something more... interesting/ cheap / better specced appears, I may in for that...
Just for newbies future reference, don't forget that EVE (and also CATL??) recommended cells to be compressed in order to achieve declared longevity (cycles) in their spec sheet
I paid 183.55€ each, plus a total of 47.81€ for shipping, which will equate to (for 8 units) around 190€each.
They always sell the next "Grade A" shipment even before they receive! it.
NKON sells mainly in Europe
https://eu.nkon.nl/rechargeable/lifepo4/prismatisch.html
This particular battery box holds 8 cells.
I also noticed that they made a mistake in the ad as at least once they refer to 48v and 16 cells setup, but it may have been an editing issue (copy - paste).
As you'll have to write Amy in the chat to customise the box to your needs, all details will...
Sorry for resurrecting this thread... but I still have some doubts related to it:
If I use these cells (EVE LF280k with double terminals) with an alu busbar - with the double of the original busbar size (don't know which alu type, tbh) - there should be no worries with dissimilar metals...
Please read your's cells datasheet.
Most probably if needed, it's described there.
For EVE 280k it's described as 3 rods each side, 10mm alu or wood (?), compressing on the larger side - IIRC
Howdy.
Just beggining with lithium - hence been lurking in the forum reading as much as I can - though with some previous DIY experience on solar, just for fun.
Been quite a learning experience around here!
I remember your tests, and I understand quite clearly your description, as I have used this arrangement for other purposes in the past, but... I'm not understanding JK's instructions on the heating pad! :(
I've just received a brand new JK-B2A8S20P-H
AliExpress instructions:
Provided cable...
These are my own Grade A bought from a reputable company (famous last words)
You can use it to check if you find any differences from yours.
If you need better pics, let me know
Thread
Nice!!
What have you used to make the schematic?
I'm starting drawing my setup, but I'm finding difficult to get the Victron components in a software that can make nice diagrams like the one you have...
Just found it.
https://diysolarforum.com/threads/seplos-can-bus-rs485-48v-200a-8s-16s-bms.20051
It's buried somewhere in the 40 page thread!! :censored:
If they're supposed to be "A Grade", brand new, than it's not your problem.
Something is wrong.
Compare to advertising pics and if different get all your money back
Another (quite cheaper) idea could be Luyuan's.
I've ordered one, but haven't received it yet, so I can't comment on the quality .
It's customised for cells and BMS
Hi.
Though I searched the forum, I was not able to find an answer for this:
In a van setup, fitted with a 12v electrical system, can I have a 24v house system with chassis as common ground? (no, it will not be the only ground!)
Van: Ducato / Promaster / Jumper / Relay (they are all the same -...
Hi Steve!
I know you don't have Victron gear.
But with the VenusOS you get a pretty nice interface/ central console.
I have not explored it myself, I'm about to, but what I see is an easy way to present all batteries to a nice GUI, easily accessible from anywhere through VRM / web.
Regards
Thanks for your lengthy response!
If you were buying cells right now, which cells (vendor?) would you bet?
(in my case, it's for a mobile application - campervan)
