EG4 website says "No, the PowerPro AllWeather battery should not be paralleled with other models of batteries." would there be any problems with using the EG4 6000EX AC Coupling setting with the EG4 18Kpv. And running the second battery bank on the EG4 6000EX?

Guess I will run a line from my EG4 18Kpv sub panel (no ac coupling) to my EG4 6000EX. That way I can charge the second battery bank. And then run some loads off my EG4-6000. Any better ideas are welcome.

Connecting different batteries in parallel is not a problem. As long as the voltage and charging profiles are the same.
But if they say "no", doing so could void the warranty. If you have issues, and they find out somehow.

Getting a quote on the Cdn version of the 18KPV and battery wall mount.

I would be interested in building a 2nd DIY battery (48v 280Ah) after inspection and running it in parralel. I am having difficulty understanding how to choose the proper BMS for this 2nd battery and having it communicate with the above wallmount one....

I've watched a lot of Off Grid Garage videos, and he mentions slaves and masters... not sure how to choose a BMS and how to slave it to the PowerPro.

With this, you would have to run the inverter in open-loop to be able to have your DIY battery paired with the WallMount since they are unable to communicate and the 18kPV currently only has one battery mode available at a time.

thx.

maybe someday they will make BMS to inverter communication universal..... until then, I'll read up about open loop operations between battery and the 18kpv
