Off Grid out on the Prairie
I bought two new EG4 6000 XLs to go with my EG4-LL batteries. I knew I would have to update the firmware on th batteries. Signature solar sent me the correct files and firmware (atleast I hope it was the correct firmware) and I successfully updated the firmware on all my batteries. I made sure that main battery was on DIP setting 1 and it still won't communicate.
After days with Signature solar trying to help they told me that the Inverters will NOT communicate with those EG4-LL batteries. Only the V2 batteries can do Lithium Ion Comms with those inverters. I have them running ok on the lead acid setting and the proper charge parameters but it seems odd to me that they won't communicate. Signature solar was adament that those batteries would NOT communicate.
Your thoughts? Ideas? Options maybe CAN bus rather than 485. I would love to get proper comms between my inverters and my batteries. I have 9 of them.
