The US has satellite systems in place that monitor space weather in real-time. You could access historical data to see if there were any events near that date.
SuspiciousObservers uploads daily and would also have historic info.

Literally the day the above mentioned HF propagation blackout was forecasted the opposite occurred.

There is an 11 year sunspot cycle which should peak this year or next. It produces fantastic HF radio propagation that we greatly look forward to and enjoy. Having been first licensed in 1972 this will not be my first time to experience it and conditions have been fantastic lately.

Ham radio has worldwide communication competitions each year and last weekend was a big one. These world class amateurs, who have won a number of global competitions, say last weekend had the best :

Hams watch the Solar Flux, the A index, and the K index. Described here a couple of cycles ago :


Basically we want the flux as high as possible with the A and K indices as low as possible.

Up to date (every three hours) near real time information can be found here, in the left margin, along with a widget people can put on their website with that data :


A current image of the sun is also provided in the left margin so you can see current coronal mass ejections with sunspot development and travel.

There were 20 or so others.

Cricket Wireless was down, but they run on the ATT network. Some reports of T Mobile outages now being attributed to trying to connect to the ATT network. That's all I have heard.

There were 3 flares yesterday. The last one even took out the GOES 16 satellite for awhile.

This is my third time watching a Solar Cycle go through it's maximum and watching what happens.
Let me give you a piece of friendly advice to ease your mind.
Stop watching this idiots YouTube channel. He is feeding you half truths in order to make spectacular stories and get more viewers.

Yes a X6.3 went off yesterday but so what, we had a bigger one in 2017 and this one had no CME so it was never going to do any damage. These are the kinds of major details your YouTube friend leaves out! The previous Flare that got you in a Panic in the first video was not even directed towards Earth, so that one was never a danger to us and I doubt it was responsible for any Cell phones going down etc. Your YouTube friend says that Everything from AT&T Cell service to retail Stores and even StarLink went down.
Well I did not hear about anything other than cell service but I do know that AT&T controls a big chunk of the Internet backbone and almost all Cell phone towers are connected to one another over the Internet and even StarLinks Down link Terminals are connected to AT&T and others Fiber links all over the country. So if AT&T has problems then yes phones will go down, some Banks / Stores will go down and even parts of Starlink will go down.

I Suggest you double check his Videos using something a bit more reliable like this page

10m is open until late in the evening. This is not the best Band conditions I have seen but it's getting dam close. The Magic Band is opening up some days but I never seem to be at home on the right days / times

I know flares give you hams wood. The biggest naysayers here are all hams. You experience with minor cycle solar events may give you a false sense of security. Taking a bath doesn't make you an Olympic swimmer.
