The "Pimp My Pop-Up" thread! Now with more welds! (Warning! Photo heavy!)

Just think how rich you would be if you had bought stock, before the covid rv boom, in the blue splice thingies company

Replace bearings, replace any pads that might exist, no oil reservoir. $ That's the plan anyways.

Replace fan motor if bearings are unservicable. It's just scrrws and time.

Where did ya go?
A little town called Greenwater, WA where my family has been camping since I was 12-ish. So about 462 years according to my back. 😁

I went looking at battery chargers in the 80-100a range I can parallel in, they're expensive! I'd rather run the genrrator at 85% for a few hours to fully charge than idle for 10 hours to get half.

Chrome shaft, Bronze bushings. Oil them and call it good. If oiling doesn't fix, you can replace the motor but be forewarned that a lot of replacement stuff is now worse than the broken stuff you're replacing. You can drill a couple a little holes to access the bushings for oiling in the future.

Gotcha.

Supposed to be pushing 70 this weekend. Getting a little tired of the cold and wet.

Hmmm.... shunt says fan draws just over 40w...
Motor says 6w on the data plate...
Bearings jiggle...
Housing all crimped together...

Yeah, new one arrives tomorrow. 😁

Hi Neighbor!! <waves>
I drive through Greenwater on the way to the east side campground where my picture is from in that other thread.
Nice little trailer you have going. Our first camper was a 1986 Coleman that we paid $900 for. It came with needle and thread and patching canvas.
It took us a few years to get everything functioning. We had several more years of enjoying being up off the ground, and having a turlet by the coffee pot. We never went back to sleeping on the ground again :)

So I got the new fan motor in, got the heater back in the trailer, connected everything back up, and it just refused to light off. It wood Woof occasionally, and the fan was blowing nice and quiet, but it just would NOT light off...

So I walked away to take a few and looked at the work bench... at the impeller on the work bench... the impeller that feeds air to the burner... DOH!!!

So back out and installed the impeller, worked like a champ after that !

Reduced the load on the fan motor for longer battery life:fp2
