Generac Eco-Gen 15kW (2020) to Growatt 12kW -> 2-wire-start-stop dry contact problem

I hooked up my generac, which has the 2 wire start stop, to my Growatt 12kW with the dry contact (NC and C are connected to the wires) but for some reason the generator doesn't start after I drained the EG4-LL batteries a little to have the possibility to test the automatic switch function with some settings in the inverter. If I just close the loop of both cables before the are connected to the inverter, it starts instantly, but not when connected to the inverter.
The manual says, that the contacts should stay open to start the generator, which is the opposite, what happens, when I tested manually or connected to the inverter. Therefor I am confused because my configured condition seems not to shut the.

Any idea, what I could do?

I talked to Signature Solar today (where I bought the Growatt), but they couldn't help me with the situation. Still the dry contact in the Growatt stays open, no matter, what setting I choose. When I close the two contacts manually, Generator starts instantly. There is no voltage on the contacts.
Does anyone have an idea how the Growatt can handle the dry contact correctly?
Signature Solar just asked me to send them a load of photos, documents, settings (which we already went through on the phone and me with an electrician several times). They said, they will stop searching for a solution because their service can't do more and asked me to get in contact with Growatt itself, what I will do next.
But strange enough, that the seller doesn't want to service me and asks the manufacturer themselves to help me out.
So any help or idea here is very much appreciated.

I reread all of your post again and removed my original reply.

Seems like my situation was different than yours after all. My problem related to Evolution v1 vs v2.

Good luck.

I believe it should be Red to NO and White to C. However, I am not too familiar with the Growatt inverters.

Thanks for sending this information. I will double check that.
The generator was hooked to a magnum solar system since 2 days ago and worked just fine. So I might think, that it should not be a generator issue. The crazy situation is, that the Growatt doesn't seem to send different signals depending on the setting and keeps the dry contacts open.
I have not get through to Growatt service hotline.

The Growatt will have to cycle through both set limits, to begin functioning properly. It won't switch just by changing the settings.

Seems I just have to be patient and wait until the battery hits the setting to let the generator kick in.
Hasn't happened yet, but the system runs without any issues.

I have a similar setup with a growatt 6K and Generac gen. To start with, in my opinion , setting 12 can’t be set high enough and lets the battery get way too low before closing the contact, 51.2 is the lowest setting and it closes the contact closer to 48 which is the max setting for the low DC disconnect. Secondly, every time the contact closes it immediately opens upon sensing the AC voltage creating a never-ending cycle of turning the gen on and off and not actually letting it run for any length of time. I finally got ahold of Growatt Support today and this is the answer they provided.

“Unfortunately, there is a known issue with the dry contact logic for our DVM inverters that turns the generator off when AC input voltage is detected. There is currently no solution. I have read in forums of installers using voltage sensing devices in place of dry contact terminals.”

It sounds like you may be experiencing the same issue.
