Good afternoon friends. I'll admit what I am bad at. Getting prices on solar panels. I have no clue what is a reputable website. The brand I am looking at I can only find "request quote" websites and oddball stuff.

Anyways, this REC430AA panel is perfect spec wise for my new array. One vendor's quote is $270 per panel. Somewhat reasonable?

Thanks!

Seems good for those. REC is good quality, they will be a premium price. The Alpha line is going to be pricey.

A1solarstore usually has accurate prices, they have the 420W version of that for $297

I'm a big fan of REC panels but If you want to save money you'll have to switch brands.

Sounds good. Thank you hwy17.

I have only ever purchased from a somewhat local Greentech, and Practical Preppers. Both were good, but I have little other experience. I was able to beat the first quote up a little on price, so I'll likely go with it.

My current REC panels are built well, and hard to beat, and these new ones are 4 way splits, so should be good if they get a little bird poop on em'.

I just couldn't see the cost benefit ratio to buy REC versus Canadian Solar.

I bought a pallet of 30 CS6R-395MS-HL for $3495 delivered. $116.50 per panel. The REC might be better, have better warranty, etc, but for more than double the price, it didn't seem worth it.

I bought it at Signature Solar, no issues.

If you request a quote, they will spam you for 2 years. Lead generation bs. Solar company calls. Lots. And emails. And texts. @ssholes.

Also understand this about having panels shipped, most vendor's policy is that they refund you for broken panels, not reship them. So if you order 10 and 2 get broken in shipping, you could end up with 8 and on your own to find 2 more.

It's just a risk involved with small online panel orders. So local pickup is significantly preferable if you can find it.

NAZ solar has:

REC420AA-PURE-R

$246 each, says free shipping. Anyone ever had success with them? Would be buying the pallet of 33. Need 28.

Hi Mike,
You have very good points. I am a picky person so I am after, wind loading, good temperature performance, and I have some REC now and really like them. Otherwise, yeah, I would probably be better off going cheaper, but the damn mounts will cost a lot more than the panels either way, so I talked myself into it.

One other thing I really need is a high voltage panel. I can maximize my distance that way on 10 guage wire. This particular model I can get 50 volts nominal, getting my 6000 watt arrays nearer that 500 volt max in my weather.

Oh, and speaking of picky, black frame. 4 bypass diodes...

NAZ solar-electric I purchased REC panels from them. I would highly reccommend them, process of purchase was very smooth and they are very professional.

Yes NAZ is great

NAZ is good. I use them somewhat frequently. Their tech-support can be a little snarky.

Thank you all for the input. They have a 7% off summer sale ending tomorrow, so this may be when I finally buy the pallet. The only slight issue is that they have 420watt instead of 430s. So my array would be 280watts smaller... Sad days indeed.

CS6R-395MS-HL is all black, 3 bypass diodes.

You would need to string more in series to elevate voltages. 12 would stay just under 500 volts Voc under really cold conditions. I am using them in 3 x 10 strings.

There's no shame in buying the best and REC panels are very good.

If you're local, we recently opened our retail store, where you can pick up panels the same day! They have some great deals in store! However as per our website, yes, we also ask that when purchasing solar panels for delivery, we urge customers to purchase additional panels to ensure the safe delivery of the needed amount.
