Which server rack battery has fewest issues: SOK, Trophy, or Jackiper?

When first setting up a system, i think it's useful to see stats. Eg cumulative power in and out, etc. But agreed on not trying to change something that's working :)

It's also clear that a nicer menu is just more convenient... people can choose to ignore it and not look at the screen, if they don't like to look at stats.
But it's available for those who do want to look.
Will constantly highlights how nice it is to have a screen with everything on it, for the units that have that.

Well I do have screens and 1854Ah I’ve looked at those screens maybe 1/2 dozen times total. You may not be aware but those screens do not stay active and go dark again after 30 sec to a min. So by the time I turn them all on the first ones are shutting off. There are much better ways of monitoring your batteries than through the screen i.e. Solar Assistant. I can see all my batteries on one page and compare all of them instead of looking at individual screens that require multiple button presses to see the individual cell information. For cumulative data that is on the inverter and again available via Solar Assistant.

“Pa, Pa, the hired man and sis are in the hay now and she’s lifting up her skirt and he’s letting down his pants and they’re afixin’ to pee on the hay.” “Son, you got your facts absolutely right, but you’re drawing the wrong conclusion.” attributed to abe lincoln

Good video but he got to the wrong conclusion. ?

Ouch. Thanks for the link.

Ironically, there's a video comment about Signature Solar
From commenter: "i like sok Signature Solar wont help me on my growatt 6 kw. the grid charger stop working and the solar i had to get a midnie the inverter seem to still work ok still"
From video creator: "So they won’t warranty the inverter? What was the reason if not? That is crazy"

Hello Dexter, @HighTechLab
could you tell what the timeframe is to support the dry contact output on the SOK 48v100ah Battery? and what options we might get with that (what conditions can be configured to the dry contacts)?

Never understood the reasoning behind dry contacts on a battery, those belong on an inverter/charger

Dont have a real use for it right now, just read that it is in planing ;) . A lot more important would be the ability to configure a value for the floating voltage that gets sent to the inverter. Right now it seems that it sends the OV alarm voltage to both bulk and float charge which isnt too exciting. Some of the pace based batteries seem to already support that, there is then an optional tab in the tool. Is this planned to be added? @HighTechLab Maybe event a dedicated bulk charge voltage, but thats too much dreaming ;)

I had the first version of the 220aH Trophy battery. Dan swapped it out after some issues and absolutely no problems with this second version. I would recommend Trophy and SOK/Current Connected. I’ll never buy anything again from SS.
Could you tell me what the difference is between the first and second versions of the batteries. I bought Dan's 24 volt battery 7 months ago.

I only have experience with the SOK, was $1100 and I picked-up myself from the seller. I am abusing it in my golf cart with occasional 100+amp shutdowns and bouncing along the road. I have not managed to destroy it [yet?].
Upside: modular case and terminals are bolted. Very easy to reconfigure, or replace bad cells, should you have the need.
Downside: no Bluetooth on the BMS. There are communications however I have no desire to connect.

There is bluetooth on the cheaper NCBT version. But the BMS is only rated at 80a, instead of the 100a on the Pro.

Wow they shot back up quick.

Wow, these look awful familiar... https://sungoldpower.com/products/48v-100ah-server-rack-lifepo4-lithium-battery-sg48100p

If I were buying a server rack, I'd likely go with SOK based off all the positive feedback here and previous pleasant transactions with Current Connected. First I'd try to buy a case only and put my own rack battery together.

Spelling edit.
The LVGOO are missing a couple of RS485 ports and do not appear to have to RS232 port.

I believe but am not certain that the SOK and SunGoldPower batteries are pretty much the same and they both use the same monitoring software

Why would a firmware update be necessary? I mean like everything else if it’s not broken why fix it? In my line of work the enemy of good is better
Firmware updates may be necessary when new batteries with new firmware are added to an existing battery stack with older firmware. Will they play well together, particularly in closed loop

Keep in mind that was in April last year.

Current low mark on rack mount 5kWh with comms seems to be something like these gokw units for $885 shipping on slow boat from China.

The SOK NCBT battery is definitely not discontinued. Its a very popular model from what I understand.

Looks like an SOK or SunGoldPower battery. The display even has all the same menu items. Does the manufacturer provide any monitoring software?

Mines still on the boat but I anticipate connecting it to a Cerbo and monitoring from there/VRM.
