Newbie solar panel wiring question

Let’s say I have 40v 10a panels x 4. If I wire two panels in series it gives me 80v 10a + 80v 10a. I want to run just one set of cables to the controller, so I use this y connector..https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0753X68PS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_lckCFbYV862SH

Now I have 80v 20a running to the controller. Correct?

On the surface, yes but keep in mind that the maximum values you have posted there sound more like the open circuit and short circuit values so you may not see that voltage and current under normal in use conditions.

I checked with a multimeter and I was getting about 38v and 8a on each panel.
