Do all black panels work better or is it just for the look?

I am looking to setup a new project at the farm mounting on a new building going up (as well as a few small ground mounts around the property) - I see that there are all black panels that would seem to be much better looking than blue/white. Question is are the black units basically the same efficiency (as they probably absorb more heat). Just putting it out there as I am trying to narrow down models. Thanks for your input and help!

Black monocrystalline and blue polycrystalline solar panels both offer unique benefits and drawbacks. Due to their uniformity and the alignment of silicon in monocrystalline solar cells, monocrystalline panels tend to have a higher efficiency than polycrystalline panels. However, this higher efficiency comes with a higher price tag, as monocrystalline solar panels are generally more expensive to produce and buy. Polycrystalline solar panels have a less intensive production process (the silicon is less pure and doesn’t need to be aligned), leading to lower prices for consumers and installers.

If efficiency is your main concern, a monocrystalline solar setup may be your best option. Likewise, if you want the lowest price for your solar project, polycrystalline panels could work best.

continued research has really reduced the efficiency difference between mono and poly panels...in the same class!!!
There are different ranges of panels so a low quality mono is not as good as a high quality poly. That said, the range for new panels is not overwhelming, I think its around 14% cheaps panels to 21% at the really high end panels.
If you are buying new you probably want to focus on the most stable company with a good warranty ;)

Ok great advice - I narrowed this down to Solaria - qCELLS - Mission Solar and Canadian Solar - All have panels at roughly 20% efficiency. For the visible building mount I will go all black - for other projects I will just get best price / value. Thank you again guys and have a great weekend!

In theory black framed panels may produce less due to higher temperatures.

I find these kind of discussions to be a waste of time. Unless space is a critical limiting factor, I'd suggest basing your decision on watts per dollar only.

What’s the saying, “opinions are like a. . .”

He asked and found out there’s no major difference, so he then went with style he perfected visually. Seeing he has to look at I’m sure he’ll be mighty happy with his choice.
