My first solar project and I was hooked. It's a 30 watt solar panel pushing an MPPT controller and a 20AH SLA battery. This powers (2) 1/2 watt LEDs and a 5v WiFi security camera.

I'm halfway through my next project which is a solar pergola with 530 Watts worth of panels feeding a 24v system. The main purpose is to shelter my BBQ grill in the summer and my emergency generator during hurricane season. The solar power will feed dual 12v radiator fans (to vent heat and smoke when grilling), LED landscape lights in my backyard, a marine bluetooth stereo system (music while swimming etc.), a small LED TV, and 2 WiFi security cameras to cover my backyard.

I just joined the forum, but am really enjoying all of your projects...keep it up!

I love the solar mailbox idea! I have security cams but they can't see down the street. Solar mailbox with two hidden wifi cameras pointing in either direction...brilliant. Thanks!

Thanks! I was going to integrate two cameras inside the box, but the wife didn't go for the holes in the side (they had to be a bit large to provide a complete field of view). I ended up placing one under the mailbox itself facing West, and my neighbor has one facing east. It takes a village!
