Load time counter

Hi everyone, i have a gas heater on my campervan and i was wondering if there's a way to count the running time of the heater. I was thinking of connecting a timer to the heater's LED, wich comes on when is running. I don't know if something like this exists, i tried to search for it online but i only get countdown timers as a result...
Or would it be easy to build such a device? And if so, do you know how?

How about an analog clock that was powered as LED is powered?


I am sure you could find a cheaper one.

You could just use a 12v hour meter.

I noticed that my Juntek shunt (model VAT1050) only counts time when there is current flowing (either charge or discharge).
Maybe some other cheaper/simpler shunts fo the same.
