On my new JBD 4S 200A BMS, the app xiaoxiang3.1.1026 (build 5) will not launch.

Bluetooth works
Xiaoxiang BMS connectable
A4:C1:38:1B:7C:80 signal:Strong-47
But the app does not start (is not displayed)
I have activated location sharing

I can start the Chinese language app 1.0.0.9Met (app is displayed).
Single cell voltages but not updated

LIONTRON Multi App works (App is displayed and can be started)
Cell voltages are displayed and updated

The BMS is brand new and I don't know yet if it works on the hardware side. Unfortunately I don't have a PC connection as I thought it was included (I ordered one from another dealer).

Does anyone know what the problem is?

Your BMS is a BMS equipped with heating function. You can check the manual

Thanks for the PDF
Page 9 / point-7 C- and B- are mirror-inverted for me! Does the PDF have an error?

According to the B - and c-links printed on the BMS, this is a very early manual,

So, I have the same app and have never seen what you describe.

-Have you purchased the entire app? About $6
-Is this android or for an apple device? I have a iPhone/iPad and these tend to work better than android, or so I hear.
-Did you do anything with password protection?

I have an 8S 100 amp Overkill, which is a rebranded JBD BMS. Even has the JDB manufactured sticker still on it. The app worked fine for monitoring when I turned the BMS on, and I had to purchase the app to set parameters. I don’t know the version of the xiaoxiang app.

☆Download link-IOS (cannot be set): Search in the APP STORE

☆Download link-Andriod (can be set): https://www.pgyer.com/Bzt1

☆BMS With UART and RS485 communication, can read all battery data in real time, and online upgrade

The app is Android (free) loaded from https://www.pgyer.com/Bzt1
Additionally the support sent me one with email which I installed of course

Possibly it is a completely new sub-model / charge (with 485) where there are errors or the app is not compatible? but these are only assumptions that could also be wrong.

Yes, your BMS is equipped with RS485 function. If you can't connect your mobile phone, it is recommended to buy RS485 module and connect it to the computer to check whether there is a problem

I don't have that much time my First is running at aliexpress. Besides, I demand a product that works without problems, there is no problem with my phone, the problem is with JBD.

Hmm...
Thousands of others working fine.
But it just CAN'T be something you are doing...

That is a newer build that no one seems to know much about. It is build 5, and the one I've been running for quite a while is the same version number but build 4. I got it from the link at Overkill Solar:

https://github.com/FurTrader/OverkillSolarBMS/raw/master/Android_app_xiaoxiangBMS_3.1.1026.apk

Try that one.

Many thanks for your help!

The problem was identified by a tip from another forum.
You have to press the font "xiaoxiang BMS".
I would never have thought of this, as the apps usually start automatically.
This should definitely be mentioned in a quick start guide.

Yes, it is bitter to lose two days because of such a tiny thing. I sent a YouTube video to support, but they didn't notice it either. Strange that an electronic component is shipped without any documentation, at least an A6 paper with a link to an English-language information- and software package. Important Chinese language documentation should be strictly separated from Chinese language documentation.

Thanks for your help!

so what do you do if you dont even get that.. all i get is the name , xiaoxiang, in the top with the back arrow.. I can see it on my bluetooth page of phone but does not start up. when i start the app i do the the " device can be connected" info with refresh under it for a bit then the page goes blank. i can see the bluetooth module on my phone and have downloaded the version off overkills page but not able to get the app to work.

I'm not an IT guy but hopefully its okay to suggest unplugging the bluetooth unit from the Overkill and plugging it back in. Restarting phone and/or turn bluetooth off/on.

Sorry, i really got nuttin. I have only used this on an iPhone.

Try settings, apps pick the app and hit force stop. Wait a few seconds and click open. Occasionally I experience your problem and that works for me

yeah i tried the unplug the bluetooth and actually deleted and reinstalled the app as well.. i will give the force stop and click open way a try.. the batteries were on the table so i had to shelve them for a bit. thanks

I'm still a bit confused by the way this works, but this is what I've found:

This (the xiaoxiang BMS) is a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) device. You need to NOT connect it to your phone via the Bluetooh settings. It cannot be a recognized Bluetooth device if you try to connect to it as a BLE device from the App.

I discovered this because of another BLE device I was having trouble with. I deleted it from my Bluetooth devices on my phone, and bingo it showed up as a device in my app settings.

Regular Bluetooth: connect via your phone's Bluetooth settings
BLE: connect ONLY via the app associated with that device

just exploring JBD 4S 12V 200A BMS .. for Lifepo4 Battery , and want to see how to adjust some setting of the BMS via that app. Is this the app folks are talking about here (posting picture) ??? If so, that app has poor reviews, so I wonder what is up.

The Android version of the app has some issues, but after I got used to it's quirkiness I've been happy with it. I haven't used the one on the Google Play Store though, as the only time I tried it was pretty out of date. The one on the Overkill Solar web site is the one I mostly use.

There are others that are less quirky but provide only basic monitoring, and not ability to make adjustments to the settings: Liontron Multi and Aolithium. I have both of these installed, but don't use them much. Aolithium doesn't even let you see the individual cell voltages, but Liontron does.

I have the Xiaoxiang iPhone app to control a JBD BMS, but it is read only (shows voltage, cell by cell), prompts me to buy the "pro version" for $10. Happy to buy it if it's the way to go, but I'd rather know if there are other apps that work too. Are there other apps to try out first?
I tried to download the desktop version on the Overkill website, but that takes me to GitLab and the link won't open. Otherwise I have only seen references to the Android version. Anyone know of more options?
