I'm a retired tool and die maker and designer and in a few months my wife is going to retire. Our dream is to buy 25 to 50 acres of land and camp there and travel with a travel trailer.

I really enjoy geeking out on this stuff while watching one of Will's videos 4Patriot power came up. It seems that their 1800 watt power station solves one of the complains Will had with the Ecoflow in that they are using LiFePo batteries instead of the laptop style batteries. What is everyone's thoughts on the premium price 4Patriot is asking for their power station?

In the future I'm going to build a large battery pack for the land and power everything with solar. I live in Georgia so SanTan is a drive away. When my I told my brother about SanTan and he was on their site. He called me and said "I'll drive down and lets get 2 pallets worth of panels tomorrow" I told him let me get the land first :)

I think they're exploiting suckers who think things labeled as "patriot" have some intrinsic value. Over charging for under performance. It's a very limited unit.

This kicks the crap out of it with nearly 3X the battery capacity at 75% the price:

They both have the same Chinese crap in them.

One thing you might get with 4patriots is better service. Maybe they're probably charging more to cover the costs associated with providing better support. Bluetti support is often pretty marginal with a clear language barrier.

Hmmm...hadn't heard of that one...linky:

Wow, $2500! Does come with panels though, so there's that.
Lifepo4 gives a lot of charge cycles - bonus.

But....
768 watt hours? My new delta mini is 882, 1400w output with 1800 surge. Charges in an hour, half the weight, cost $700. I already had portable panels

Consider looking at the Delta or Delta Max, or the Bluetti AC models. I think you would be happier and get more for your money.
Oh, and the con is my unit is only rated for 800 cycles, with NMC batteries. I would be surprised if I do 50 cycles per year, so that's 16 years. Hopefully I'll actually live that long. LOL

The Delta Pro is amazing, and just a few bucks more. 3kWh!

Thank you for the replies. I think you are correct about 4Patriot wrapping itself around the flag. I'm not a prepper. I really just want to buy the cells and bms and build my own .. BUT the wife just looks at me and says " do you really need another project?" She is right. I saw Will's Ecoflow review and the dig on the battery. I'm guessing that to start I'll just get the Ecoflow Delta. Amazon has a $200 coupon on it right now. And with Browneye's point on the cycles and my life cycles ! I think it will work.

BTW .. if any of you have a good link to building your own, equivalent to the Ecoflow, system for less let me know. Edit: even if I have to build my battery I will be going with LIFePo4 if I build a system rather than buying the Ecoflow or Bluetti .. No more Lead acid for me. Thanks

I built my own lifepo4 pack as well, for the RV. Put solar panels on it too. Upgraded the entire battery and charging systems, spent a lot of money. It works great. I had a lot of questions.

There's a LOT to learn. And while you can get exactly what you want, or more for your money with DIY, the pre-built units are hard to beat. So efficient and compact. They don't come cheap that's for sure. I just think they're the coolest tech gadget out there right now so I had to have one.

The first thing to do is figure out what your daily consumption is, what you need/want - a target to hit if you will. Without that you're just throwing dollar bills into the wind.

A smaller unit might well serve your needs. Or a large one may not. You really kind of need a usage target.

Do you already have a travel trailer? A tow vehicle? Living in a trailer isn't everyone's cup of tea. I've been RV'ing for over twenty years, don't think I want to full time in one, but many do it. Be sure to do some trial runs with a rental or something before you jump all in.

I picked up a renewed EB240. Saw the thread on the forum talking about them. Came in today, $525 shipped. outside of the buttons seeming a bit stiff, the unit looks mint. All packaging there. All accessories.

Placed another order today when I saw the AC200P in stock. Waiting to see if I managed to snag the last unit or not. They come and go in stock it appears.

Just another option to consider.

We are camping pro's. I lived in a one man tent for 2 weeks touring Austria and Hungary on a bike. I've also spent 10 days roughing it in Africa. My wife loves it and it is her dream to camp more. We have rented but the price they are getting for the rentals now requires us to buy. Thank you all for the input.
