I have been using Midnite Solar equipment for years. The quality and design is unmatched. Guess what? They've come out with a line of all-in-one's in order to offer a less expensive alternative to their Made in USA products. And the new offerings are...MPP Solar, branded as Midnite Solar!

To me this is the single best confirmation that MPP Solar is quality equipment!

I suspect that Midnite gets them from the OEM(Voltronic) same as MPP Solar does.
Are we sure the units are exactly the same or are they slight variations on a white label platform?

Personally, I'm not impressed with MPP quality or design.

Aha...live and learn. Didn't know that MPP puts their name on Voltronic.
I should qualify what I said above: I'm impressed with the quality, GIVEN THE VALUE. Certainly the MPP stuff isn't top quality, probably nowhere near it. BUT given the price and capabilities, it's great.

design is a matter of taste and non debatable , but what is it about their quality that has not impressed youb?

The paralleling module doesn't defeat the n/g bond on the subordinate causing a ground loop.
High idle consumption.
Noisy fans.
The ac charge termination logic is pathetic.

high idle is a non agrument unless underpaneled or underbatteried.
in normal circumstances , when running the inverters 24/7 there is no idle consumption, and if there is, 30 minutes of sun would negate this completely

noisy fans , i agree, however , have you ever heard sol-arks/deye/sunsynks ramp up ?

groundloop is an issue for the us only, so cant comment on that, however, if choosing a us inverter this should not be an issue ( @DanF please correct me when wrong)

not quite sure what you mean by :

"The ac charge termination logic is pathetic"
please elaborate

For what it's worth... There is another thread or two on here that Midnite Solar is actually responding on. And if I recall correctly, they are not Voltronic units ?‍♂️ . Which would also explain why Solar Assistant doesn't support them.

I just discovered SA (I am a Home Assistant user) yesterday and I have been looking at various charger/inverters that work. Is it confirmed that the MNS are not compatible, like did they requet to lock it down, or they are manufactured by someone else?

I had emailed Midnite about a month ago asking if they had any options for monitoring their DIY series AIOs. They said to give them about 2 months and they would be releasing something...
