Connection help needed ASAP

Hello,
I am planning to connect a new 12v system weekend and I am getting conflicting information between the Videos on this site and the manufacturer’s instructions. The confusion is with the charge controller and the inverter. In one of Will’s videos the charge controller looks to be connected directly to the inverter, in another it goes into the main fuse and then to the inverter and the manufacturer says to go directly to the battery.
I don’t want to damage my new components (or myself) is there one correct answer?
FYI 40 amp charge controller, 2 (200 watt) panels, 2200w inverter, 200 AH lithium ion battery

Best for each component to connect direct to the battery or the main bus.

You should have a fuse between your charge controller and the battery.

I have a 50 amp fuse. On charge controller. Just wondering if it goes from that fuse to main fuse, inverter or battery?
