Hi all, I'm a software developer (working remote) and I have recently purchased a van and have been upgrading it for off-grid living.

I plan to move into it in about 10 months when my lease runs out to try and save money and be a bit closer to nature (when I feel like it).

Will's videos (and book) have been paramount in helping me figure out how electricity works and how to safely and properly set up my solar system.

The van I bought was already an RV but it had all the crappy old (and poorly manufactured) battery setup. I've since upgraded the battery bank, converter/charger, added an inverter, and an automatic transfer switch. All thats left on the electrical side of my upgrades are the solar panels and the solar controller.

Wanted to join this forum both because I have some more questions but also because I've been so heavily consuming this information that I probably can help others now who are trying to modify their existing RV electrical. I can probably help with RV/van modifications in general.

If you care to follow my journey towards "vanlife" and beyond I also just created a youtube channel "rent free van plan" at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLcZ3zMxWAmBenI1Cw3w44g

thanks for having me and great idea Will for creating this forum. Fuck social media, own your audience!!
