I have a large saltwater aquarium and I already have my main pump backed up with a 12 battery that switches over automatically. I have a secondary pump that does not have a 12v backup port I came across this video on YouTube and it got me thinking could this work to run my other pump. So my question is can I run a setup like this 24/7 365 as a ups safety and reliability. Do I still need the mppt or will the dc power supply and internal bms handle the charging and float of the battery? I have not measured the pump wattage but it should be in the range of 65 watts.
