Can the electrical grid handle a boom in electric vehicles?

It could just as easily been my school teacher or a friends mom. I have no mommy issues you idiot, Im adopted so you are way off base with that. Its a liberal democrat issue.
Sorry you were abandoned as a child. Glad it didn't affect your perspective.

For the other states (Texas in particular) it should be a cautionary tale that gets everyone moving on infrastructure upgrades. As goes California, so goes the nation.
You just proved my point. I asked you to calculate the carbon cost, you just replied "upgrade the infrastructure" (problem solved).
You dont give a rats ass about global warming, if you did you would stop and consider the outrageous amount of industrial activity thats going to have to take place to accomodate millions of electric cars. From mining the copper for cables, to tearing up the streets and repouring concrete, building power plants, manufacturing charging stations, all of the above requiring fossil fuel burning heavy equipment, NONE OF THIS IS EVER CONSIDERED BY YOU WANNA BE GREEN LUNATICS. ITS AS IF YOU THINK THE GREEN FAIRY WILL SEND ELVES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AND IT ALL JUST APPEARS.

That's the point and the solution is for everyone involved to act in unison to keep from going down hard and dirty. California actually has a leader and he led successfully. For the other states (Texas in particular) it should be a cautionary tale that gets everyone moving on infrastructure upgrades. As goes California, so goes the nation.
Instead politicians bow to the pressures of big oil and slow walk all infrastructure improvements so as to keep us addicted to their donors and keep them elected year after year.
Youre of course aware that while Al Gore was globe trotting in a private jet touting his alarmist movie, (accompanied by secret service with 4 Cadillac Escalades flown by a C-130), he pocketed almost $100 million in profits from his investment in a silicon valley smart utility meter company? But its only big oil profiting, right?

You need to settle down there, Batshit. It's bad for your health, both physical and mental. I have an entire division of the current administration working on those numbers for you. I'm busy enjoying the view right now of my freshly mowed lawn of natural grass after a heat wave breaking 4" rain.
Surprisingly (to you maybe), I don't jump when a republican like you says jump. I jump for no man. I jump only for my wife. If you can't wait for the government stats to be released then do the calcs your own damn lazy (and I might add bossy) self.

"California actually has a leader and he led successfully".
That must be why millions of productive folks are leaving as fast as they can? My Daughter lived in San Diego, and my Son in San Fransisco. They both moved to the Carolinas. The stories they told me are shocking. I left NYC for the same reason.
I am a registered Democrat, but will never vote for another democrat again. They ruin every city they run. Just travel the country and look for yourself.
Always Remember.... 9/11.
Actually, the people that are leaving are mainly retired people that can cash out and buy a home in a cheaper state.

I am a CTO and CFO of an engineering firm and none of our employees have left CA...no reason why when a college grad with a masters degree in engineering is making over $200K here. Why move to South Carolina where they wouldn't make half of that, being in a high crime state and have shitty health care to boot!.

Thanks for confirming a point Ive been making for some time now, and dont act like you (or I) would be qualified to make such a calculation. I did not expect you to.
THE CONCLUSION HERE is that the claim of government and environmental ideologues that EV use is more environmentally friendly than ICE
vehicles is dead wrong. Its dead wrong and based on an incomplete data set. It compares the carbon output of a gasoline vehicle with the carbon output of an EV based only upon the existing grid and its various sources of energy.
WHAT THEY HAVE FAILED TO CONSIDER AND YOU JUST ADMIT IT YOURSELF THAT THEY HAVENT BUT MIGHT BE WORKING ON IT, IS ADDING TO THE EVs DAILY OPERATION COSTS, THE CARBON COST IN THE NEXT 30-40 YEARS OF:
Designing, manufacturing and installing literally millions of end user charging stations, mining the copper wire to connect them, and the copper for the cables that connect to the cars.
These figures are considered for the actual EVs why not the millions of charging stations?

The hundreds of thousands of yards of copper cable that will have to be buried or strung to upgrade the grid capacity, the solar panels to support the additional capacity. The concrete poured to rebury the lines. The construction work in all these installations is staggering.

The cables, the buildings, the turbines, the concrete poured, the transmission towers, all the manufacturing that will go into the additional power plants required. You made a career of this and tens of thousands of additional people like you will eventually be hired. Do you thimk building all these additional plants has no carbon cost?

NONE OF THIS IS ADDED IN CALCULATIONS WHEN THEY COMPARE EV TO ICE OPERATION.

CONVERSION TO EVs REQUIRES COMPLETE TRANSFORMATION OF OUR WHOLE INFRASTRUCTURE AND EVEN RAZING AND DISPOSAL OF GASOLINE INFRASTRUCTURE. NOT A BIT OF WHICH HAS BEEN CALCULATED AND ADDED TO THE CARBON OUTPUT OF EVs THAT ARE TOUTED AS MORE CARBON FRIENDLY.

WHY, OZARK, WHY?

WHY DONT YOU GIVE A DAMN THAT THIS WHOLE THING IS A FRAUD?

LOL...An ICE engine is 24% efficient. Calculating the transmission costs and generating costs, EVs are 66% efficient.

Maybe that's why my Tesla is so inexpensive to run. Even without my solar panels that charge my EV and power my house, I would be dollars ahead with my EV.

Did you get a GED to get yourself into the Navy? You sure never took any economic classes.

I was just making it simple for him. His muscle car runs about 15cents a mile. ?

LOL... everyone is buying into the fraud except for Batshit....he knows more than everyone else.

On the existing grid.

YOUR FIGURES ARE BASED ON THE EXISTING GRID WHICH WILL REQUIRE MASSIVE UPGRADES.

Add the carbon cost to upgrade the entire system for 340 milliom americans living their lives with EVs. If youre so goddamn smart why havent you considered these issues?

Ozark admitted that all these carbon costs have never been calculated or added.
Why are you people only interested in making jokes about this?
You dont care that they have been implementing a plan that is entirely flawed and will only make climate change worse in the next half century?

On the existing grid, we can add over 28 million EVs without a modification based on the current percent usage.

Last I looked there aren't 340 million cars...there are actually closer to 100 million registered vehicles currently and it goes down every year.

SO...why do you think this plan is being made since it's so severely flawed....another conspiracy? Tell me it ain't so!

Is stuff like this that makes you wake up at 3AM to post? I suggest you get back on your meds and enjoy your life.

Ill just make my point and wait for someone to refute it with a reliable source or intelligent rebuttal.

LOL...that I completely doubt!

Please don't post again until there is something reliable posted that refutes you. Now you can take your meds and go to bed.

Is that why california ordered ev owners to not charge their cars last week with something like 1% adoption? Because the capacity exists to increase that to 28%?

I didnt say 340 million CARS. I said 340 million AMERICANS living their lives with EVs.

I had to demonstrate reading skills to get a GED. Let us know when you get yours.

If he actually promises not to post again....I certainly am not going to try and refute him!

EDIT:...oops..spoke too soon!

LOL...you were supposed to WAIT!!!

They said not to charge between 4PM and 9 PM along with running washing machines, dishwashers...

I charge my EV at 12:00AM when it's cheaper to charge. They of course encourage to do it at that time with lower rates when there is low demand.

Yeah...I didn't have to get a GED to get into college...I actually had to pay attention to the teachers in high school just a little bit. I did pay a little more attention when I went to Stanford for my engineering degrees and UCLA for my business degree.

Typical democrat orwellian control freak. We are only allowed to post at certain hours they see fit. Deviation from this will result in forced medication until comformance to mandated standards is achieved.
Go eat a big bag of dicks. Im an adult, nobody tells me when my bed time is or when Im allowed to get on the internet.

Nope. I'll be gone long before the half century mark...even if I don't get lost going to church on Friday night.

That sounds like my Bros in the IBEW will make a pile of cash over the next 10 years! Sure wish I wasn't propped up with all this titanium or I go get me some of that gold they're gonna be handing out to tramps.

No...I am actually a Rebublican...I just don't support tRump or enablers of tRump! I just don't have mental issues like you do.

It's funny...you can actually be a Republican and support ways to reduce climate change!

I was just making it simple for him. His muscle car runs about 15cents a mile. ?
My current as well as previous 2 vehicles have been Hondas. All 3 manufactured in the USA.
Honda has never manufactured or sold muscle cars. I like the brand because they drive better than the competition in their class. Handling, stability, braking and safety ratings are all at the top of their segments. If reliability were the priority I would lean toward Toyota, but Honda is close enough on that
I havent owned anything you could call a muscle car since the '80's, Sparky. Id certainly love one again though I wouldnt drive it much. Screenshot_20220913-142346_Chrome.jpg
This ones at barrett jackson so its much nicer than mine but you get the idea. Mine was 3-4 years old when I got it, they were the last of the true muscle cars and the entire world laughs in the face of anyone belittling someone for owning one. These are incredibly desirable, now and then for that matter. I just find my Honda more practical at my age.
