Hi everyone! I'm an Uni student in civil engineering and I also teach in High school electronics and mechanics (or other classes as needes).
I want to practise with the solar power building an offgrid system trying to spend as little as possible :)
I hope to learn as much as I can from all of you ?

If you have a "beginning" electronics class maybe build a solar panel. It will not be as efficient as a real one but it's an easy project for a class.
All the materials are available on ebay . I used grade b individual solar cells , some "buss" and "tab" ribbon, and an old sliding glass door.
Just soldering , and basic work. I suggest you use "fire caulking" to seal the panel .

Hi :) I'm a new teacher (I'm only 25yo) and in this school we have a few project with solar power, some made by some student: one is a "solar tracking system" with two small panel and a structure that rotates itself mounted on a portable cart (so it's easy to move from class to class) and another one is a complete electric panel where the student learn how to cable the system with all the safety part, but last year the inverter broke down and now we are waiting for a new one... they where also courios about my electric scooter, but they still prefer the ICE motorcycle like my vintage Vespa:ROFLMAO:

this weekend I'm going to buy some used panel to start building my offgrid system.
