When you can see a gradual decline in solar irradiation...

SA.png

This graph doesn't show all of my loads. The loads shown are just my sub-panel, which is only a portion of my usage. I'm not giving that much back to the grid!

I know its happening in Michigan, but when I graph it out, the cloudy fall days give a false impression that it's worse than it is.

We're on day 4 of a total solar gray out. Thick heavy clouds, cold rain, lots of wind. Utterly miserable outside. Supposed to go up into the high 60's for the weekend with lots of sun.

I'm in NC in a condo, and the only place for a panel is fully shaded 90% of the day...
In fall the leaves go away, and I get a 10 fold increase in solar...

Sunny Cali keeps me at full output almost all day. Very little clouds lately, no overcast days. But its still warm here, with today still being 90*F.

Its a trade off.

Stuck in Fogtober here......Cant locate the sun in the sky most days.....When San Jose and Silicon Valley start to cook they suck in the sea breeze complete with fog.....

Fresno, 60 miles east...90 to 100 deg F....here 52 degrees and fog

Today was the first day in many where we saw the sun...got to 85 deg not far from the Pacific Ocean

Me too. Just going to force me to put up more panels that are currently stacked on the ground.
I pulled 2 out of storage and changed my configuration from 3S2P to 2S4P.
I will mount the 2 on the lower left this weekend but that are hooked up and running.
Now I am out of space.

Oof...
High of 49 today, with a low of 37. First frost of the season this morning...
Frost here on Tuesday. Got down to 27 according to weather stations.

Never ever in my life know it to get this cold this fast in NC or maybe I’m just getting old.

Oh, in 2018, it blasted down to 16F from 90 the previous day… was crazy. I had slews of heat out, and broken water lines all over Charlotte…

My production has dropped from 75kwh a day to 70kwh a day but my usage has reduced by about 30% since it's no longer 5000 degrees every day. So, even though I'm producing slightly less, I'm consuming much much less (35% less roughly). On average clear days I'm over producing by 20kwh compared to this summer where I was still consuming an average of 25kwh.

Hows that thing been treating you? Mines been getting neglected since I moved into a home... lol

:) Not bad -- I have some pretty ridiculous issues on it to fix / get fixed but I'm still living in it full-time. no desire to buy a home yet. 4 years and running!

100% true. I went from 10-11 hrs of AC usage per day just 30-40 days ago, down to an average of 1hr or less some days!

unfortunately for me, I'm using more energy to try to heat with heat pump and not propane. So I make less and I use more. Double whammy!
Even if I use only propane, it's pretty hard to be 100% self-sufficient with my general usage. Thankfully there's a 50 amp plug in my parents' driveway :)

Summer (slight clouds at 16:00) - WITHOUT 400 watts of ground mount (3350 watts flat-mount on roof)

Now - WITH 400 watts of ground mount (properly angled)

Rolling around to this again. This time I have the CT's wired and this is my homes entire usage. Days are getting shorter, but A/C usage it going down faster. Finally started to get into the negative again.

Hows everyone else doing?
