I have a Growatt SPF 3000TL LVM-24P. I want it to be able to know the SoC of the connected battery. Is the only option to use EG4 batteries with the communication port connected or is there a shunt or BMS for a DIY battery that can communicate with the Growatt?

I'm currently using a 24v 100ah DIY battery with an Overkill BMS. This was waaay cheaper to start with rather than buying an EG4 battery. But, I would like the Growatt to know the SoC of my DIY battery and not just guess by the voltage.

Any options?

Edit: Apologies. Not sure why this double-posted.

A lot of people use the Aili Battery Meter Shunt to show all that. Good price and the only complaint I could say about my 2 is that the power screw block for the Pos+ falls off really easily and is kind of a pain.

Works with any kind of battery or inverter as it only cares about the battery it's hooked up to and its programmed limit, I.E. you plug it in and fully charge the battery then tell the shunt "This is 100% SoC" and it does the math based on how many amps have gone in or out of the batteries since you programmed it.

As for getting a Growatt to talk to a BMS and get the SoC through all that, I think you have to have a special make & model of BMS, then the right cables and protocol and such. From what little I've read it's a pain and not usually worth it unless you're already doing monitoring and data tracking through the internet to it.
