Hi,

I am looking to build small cabins for my kids to hang out in this upcoming summer. I don't want to plug into the house as it just requires more underground wiring. I would like to build a system that is capable of running basic things like lights and chargers for their devices. I created a diagram and would love to fine tune it before the actual build. Does anyone have any suggestions or comments on something they see that could improve this, or even make this a disaster if I build it like this? Thank you.Capture.PNG

Oversize your system on panels and batteries too, solar can be fickle and kids never turn everything off.

What are the trapeziods on the upper right bulbs? If those are fuses they are not needed as you seem to be feeding them from a panel anyways.

The bulb right off the Load ports on the SCC makes things more complex than they need to be.

At around the 300-400w panel range a real MPPT controller gets to be worth the money.

Other than that and the fuses Sunshine notes it looks good.

1. Yes they are fuses. And the lights just represent loads. Not necessarily lights themselves.
2. I wasn't planning on doing anything with the right side. Its just there understand how the system works.
3. They wont get much solar right now as I only plan to have it for lights and charging their tablets and small devices. Once they turn 16 we are planning to build a larger system for their larger cabins. Then I will look into other options for charge controllers. So yeah. Their systems will probably already be overkill for their uses.(Plus it keeps me from spending way too much to start off with.
4. I am going with 6x6 cabins as this will easily fit on my trailer when we move. 8x8 means I need to either leave them there or buy another trailer. They are pretty young. I understand the ease of lumber. Anything built of wood is never an issue for me. I will be building an 8x8 for my wife to read and paint. But that's another story. Oh, and I can purchase my lumber at 6' lengths at my lumber yard. So not worried there.

Still need a fuse between the battery and the fuse block.

Also need a fuse between the scc load port and the light-bulb.
