I'm trying to order the solar assistant kit from South Africa.
I understand it's now certified to work with the EG4 3000 inverter and eg4 battery kit.
I'm trying to order the proper components necessary to match up with my EG4 components. I see there is an orderable software and hardware including the raspberry pi.
I'm trying to determine do I have to order special cables as well for this?
I have the smartESS wires that came with my inverter and dongle. Do I need additional wiring or interface connections? I'm just trying to make certain that I order all the needed components from smart assistant in south Africa.
I sent an email directly to the good folks at solar assistant but haven't heard anything as of yet.
Thanks very much for your time and answers. I really appreciate it.

The raspberry pi only have 4 USB A. ports. My Raspberry pi connects to a sacolar inverter via USB A to USB B cable. It connects to my battery via USB A to RS32.

Thank you for your response. I had believed that EG4 inverter needed to use a serial cable interface. And transition over to the USB connector.

The inverter will come with the wifi kit that includes a RJ-45 to DB-9 cable that connects the wifi adapter to the inverter's RS232 port. You can use this cable if you already have a RS232 to USB adapter. Otherwise, Solar assistant sells a RJ-45 to USB RS232 adapter that makes it simple.
