diy solar

Very new to solar but started purchasing items, not sure of the final specs of the whole system.

Solar/deer cam, yet to see the bear this year.

What cam? Is that an independent self solar powered cam? Or does it get power from your battery?
It's ePOE camera run by an nvr, I added 4 cat5 lines when I did the power cable for the arrays near the field.

4 days of heavy clouds, and the last two days the only difference was charging the truck, mower, and bike.
For the most part, 40 amps are ok but would like more for when you might only have one sunny day out of 5.

Almost 3 hours of +15kw and they are hovering around 120f. The eg4s are still doing very well and not odd restarts, flickering, etc.

Eg4 had no issues running the welder 240v, set to 98 amps dc, just slight jumps in base loads.
No flickering etc.

Our lg front-load washer started to fail, with our job you have lots loads to wash. We do have to deal with incontinence often and maxing out the settings on it was 2 hours and 5 mins. Even selecting water plus it really did not clean well. We bought the Samsung top load with an agitator and it was advertised with a deep fill option. Sadly deep fill only went 1/2 way up and the comforter was still dry after 8 minutes of agitation. We then started a load with deep fill and tossed in the reusable incontinence pads. The agitation was so weak they were not turning over at all. We returned that quickly and decided to try the Maytag MVWP586GW. It actually fills up completely and turns everything over very well. Wash time went from 2 hours to roughly 45 minutes and everything is much cleaner.

The birds and rabbits really like the panels, they get used to me quickly and keep on building even though I'm outside so much.

Yup we had multiple rabbit dens under ours.
I let the weeds grow up a they just moved in.

Doesn’t bother me but eventually I’m going to have to cut the grass down.

First order was from Signature Solar:

1. 36x ZNShine 390W 72 Cell Bifacial Mono
2. 1x Off-Grid 48V DC 12kW Inverter 120V/240V 120A/150V MPPT with Wifi
Monitoring
3. 1x Growatt 12 KW Off-Grid Inverter Spare Boards

Found the we were using around 50kwh per night and that has to be corrected, I'm installing a mini split, and rheem hybrid water heater.
I’m excited to install the rheem as I can vent this into the tv room to keep it cool.

Like to start out with 50kwh storage either signatures batteries or possibly 4 16s 280ah batteries. Ideally would like to double this later. I'm hoping to get decent reduction in consumption so I can purchase pre-made.

Still trying to find an in expensive mounting option preferably pole mounted.

Not much to show yet but removed trees that were casting shadows on 1/2 the back yard.

We work from home and due to our job that consists of taking care of the ID population we are now using a lot of electricity.

Will update the thread as we go and I'm sure that I will have many questions for other parts of the forums.

I have to watch all the time, they used to make little dens against the foundation along the back of the house but now the like to be under the panels.

First very hot day and turned both units on up and down and still positive at 7:00 pm. In Wintertime is often to see negative by 4:00 pm.
The pellet stoves went on sale and decided to try the comfortbilt hp61. Both sides have magnetic doors and per specs can do 50kbtu at max. The past two winters hit below 0 and had weeks of clouds. When operating it's 150w, vs 4500w+ for just the upstairs unit.

We had 6 days of clouds and the truck was down to just 80 miles left. Shows I could fully charge in a day but would be negative before completing. Got the mower, bike, and truck charging, I was curious to see what the mower charger was pushing. It was much less than what the dealer stated.

Saw yt videos of people stating the aftermarket ego batteries were just as good. Order from two sellers one was a total scam and sent my 5.0ah batteries there were labeled 12.0. Those were returned immediately with the eBay seller offering a small refund to keep. Ordered a 10.0ah also and it is smaller and significantly lighter it performed on par with a 7.5ah with the chainsaw.

Worked on busbars and wiring/fitting all the connections.
I am following along this thread because I also have a Growatt 12kw and the smaller Growatt 48120SCC and wondered about your 4 pole and 2 pole ABB switches. Can you tell take photos of the information on the upper right corner in print? I tried to blow the photo up but it gets out of focus and I can't read the spec. Thank you so much.

I can get that for later this evening and upload it.

The 4 / 3 poles all have the same name, if you buy off ebay ask them to guarantee the shunt works. I got two that were
not functional from sellers that stated they worked.
