Anyone know when EG4 LIFEPOWER4 batteries will be UL9540 certified? I saw a YouTube video from eg4, but they did NOT give specifics. I posted video and title below. I live in California and UL9540 is what i NEED.

EG4 LiFePower4 Improvements Update | Fire Arrestors, UL Standard Tests, and More!

I tried to call signature solar and after 20 min on phone i decided to do call back thru offer on phone call. Almost 2 hrs later NO call back? ? I tried to call again and AFTER around 15 min it went to voicemail. All calls i tried making are going to voicemail....

When did you call and which dept did you try to get to when you got the phone tree? We didn't have any wait times yesterday in Sales or Customer Service of that length during business hours. I would suggest calling either of those depts with this question

Hello,

I called at 3:50pm PST. I was told by the sales woman from option 1 that Technical support would be best to answer my questions. The sales rep said my questions were technical questions. She then placed me on hold for technical support. After that I just waited...and waited...and waited. I then tried that call back option that never happend until i decided to try the call back before the business closed.

i called back and waited again until it decided to put me to voicemail after a brief message over and over again

Can you answer the questions from the 1st post please?

July 10th is the target date

Hi, thank you .

Will the current 48v 100ah LIFEPOWER4 batteries have the UL9540 simply added to them OR will their be different model batteries that have something added to the hardware?

Ill hold off purchase until after July 10th. ? Definitely want to add the batteries to my home backup in California. I am trying to go off grid at my house and need batteries to cut the power from southern California Edison (SCE)

Are you planning on just not using your grid connection, or are you planning on disconnecting? The reason I am asking is that many building codes do not allow disconnecting from the grid if one is provided.

Hello,

My goal is to DISCONNECT from the grid. I am NOT sure where you live, BUT I am in COMMUNIST California. I am an SCE (Southern California Edison) customer(NOT by choice).

I was told by SCE that i CANNOT remove the power lines and disconnect from their grid. my assumption it would take manpower and cost money they don't want to spend to remove them. Rather i can close my account & the turn off my main breaker. If you can imagine it i would be my own island producing power and would not be able to draw or send back power since the main circuit breaker is in off position.

I would then be using (6) 48v 100ah LIFEPOWER4 batteries to start with. If i need more I'll add them later. California requires UL certifications 9540 and 1973.

Below is the information that is taken from the email i received inquiring about needed certifications for batteries in Communist California.

"In order to be listed on the California Energy Commission’s Solar Equipment Lists, an active and valid safety certification to UL 1973 safety certificate by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory is required to list battery equipment, and an active and valid safety certificate to UL 9540 by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory is required to list energy storage systems."

So you CAN'T remove the grid cable connection to your home, BUT you can turn your electric account off and then turn off your main circuit breaker. It's not the complete finger to the system...but it's a start right ??

UL 9540 is not just for the batteries. It has to include the inverter/charger also. The listing has to be for the full system.
Batteries themselves can have UL 9540A, which is a different thing, and is about fire safety for the battery only, but that won't be enough to pass the inspection if you need UL 9540. I know, because I'm in COMMUNIST Canada and that's exactly what I'm going through right now, after spending a lot of money on things that are UL listed, but as a system they are not UL 9540 certified.
It's all just an effing money grab. All of these inspectors and all of these standards agencies are just another form of mafia.
I'm hoping that EG4 will certify their Inverter+batteries combo to UL 9540, since I plan to build another, bigger system soon, but I don't want to pay the monopoly premiums of the Schneider et al companies.

I check the EG4 seems not certified UL 9540 yet? But if they do achieve that rating the battery will cost more.

Also in ontario Canada where the rules are completely nuts.
Have you found an all in one system that meets the ul9540

This may not be relevant to Canada but the California CEC maintains a list of inverter battery combinations that are UL9450 listed as systems. One such example in my SolArk with Pytes batteries. There are many more.
I'll look into that

SolarPowerStore now has a Luxpower inverter + Maple Leaf battery combo that they say is UL9540 certified (as a system).
It's still expensive, but I might have bought it if I hadn't already ordered my batteries and inverters.
On the first system I had to get it Field certified by eSAFE and they gave me a sticker, for CAD1600 LOL.
So I'll get the same stupid sticker for my new system. I'm also in Ontario.

I'm a little suspect of the maple leaf brand. I don't see any reviews
