Doing research on the Outback FLEXmax 100 with Arc Fault protection but not sure about lithium/EG4 battery compatibilities.

Anyone using the FLEXmax100 with EG4 batteries? Any issues with compatibility?

I'm assuming you are talking about this item?

I'm not first hand familiar with these units, but I have seen them installed in numerous places typically coupled with LED Acid or AGM batteries. From my limited experience at least the older models didn't seem to receive software updates and were not as Lithium battery compatible.
You are correct, this is the unit I am talking about.

And upon further research, it seems to be tested with a few lithium batteries but they do not guarantee compatibility with untested batteries.

Is there a reason you're considering these units, Victron, AGM, and Sol-Arl, EG4, etc I believe all have a more open and accessible information pipeline for DIY people?

I've not seen the monitoring software solution for Outback, but the Victron one is beautiful if you're looking for a componentized system that has gorgeous reporting and monitoring capabilities, not to mention specific abilities to communicate closed-loop with many types of batteries.

The only reason was built-in AFCI & GFP

Yes, you are correct.

I agree with you regards Victron. The driving force to consider Outback was that little extra safety component in the built-in AFCI protection.

FYI, this doesn't have the extra safety feature you're looking for, but for $400 it's significantly cheaper.
