Inverter question

Schneider conext can be put into standby from the InsightHome, and probably by InsightCloud but I don't use the cloud portion.

Gentry Solar will do that for way less than Vjctron. It isn't yet UL listed, but neither is Victron.

There are some Victrons that have Ul rating. Good to know there are other options available.

In a roundabout way. Most inverters with internet connectivity have a way to change their settings, and you can change the settings so it would force the inverter on or off. Very few have an explicit on/off button in a remote app, though.

You could always use a switchbot.

I suspect manufacturers are afraid of having people's power sources easily hacked, and so don't allow much remote control.

Is there inverter beside victron that I can turn on and off from my phone remotely
My Growatt min-11400TL-XH-US inverters can be turned off using the web app as well as the local app, I’ve done it with inverters grid tied, I’ve never tried in off grid mode, it appears it would work either way, but would not make sense to do that. Off is output turned off, if a battery is connected it sits there in standby and if you turn it back on it sync’s and goes back into service. You can set a SOC at which it will simply go black if no PV is available.
You have me curious now, been completely off grid for a while now, when a god time comes along I’ll test if it works off grid.

I agree that there are few that "build this service in" to their devices. I couldn't find inverters with phone control with a quick search, so you'll need to do a deep research effort to try and find models like Victron that might have this.

There are numerous DIY ways to achieve this, but we don't know your skill level. If you make sure that the inverter you get is already "remote-control" enabled, then it will have a remote switch (usually w/ a "phone" rj-12 type of cable), and a plug for it, and/or a wireless remote fob kind of switch.

Any of these are acceptable, as now all you have to do is look for a wireless or phone-controlled relay that is reasonably easy to wire into this remote control circuit of the inverter. If you are a little bit handy, there are many youtube vids for wiring a remote fob control into any inverter, such as this vid:

youtube.com/watch?v=XoeU5iJnbwY

Short distance control = a relay w/ bluetooth support. Long distance control = a relay with Internet or cellular services support. For either of these, just wire the relay into your inverter's remote control circuit, and then control it remotely w/ your phone.

Hope this helps ...
