What are you doing to save energy?

LEDs light, tv’s set to low energy, 80 gallon hot water heater with 2000 watt elements with a timer that runs 1 hour a day. Mini splits, and a GE profile washer dryer combo. husqvarna automower changing on solar.

That would be true of the current if the resistances of the two different voltage kettles were the same. But an 1800 watt 120 volt kettle and a 3600 watt 240 volt kettle both pull 15 amps.
Obviously :)

Brits complain about the kettles over here but I've never really noticed much of a difference in the boiling time. Maybe I just savor the whole tea experience.

I've been an American my whole life and never met anyone with a standalone electric kettle. We just use the stove at my house. I know some folks that use coffee maker for tea.

We're 'mericans and we use an electric kettle! Sometimes I'll put the teapot on the stove, but usually only if the batteries are on the lower side of things.

Now you have. I got an induction kettle off Amazon this year, Uses 1100 watts and heats water super fast. Also acts like a thermos to keep the water hot for a long time. I got that and an induction cooktop to reduce my propane use.

Yes, use Emporia 16ct and start the game hunting for the culprit. I installed two attic fans and eliminated my 34KBTU A/C, save a bunch.
Agreed, roof or attic passive/active vent fans can really reduce cooling costs. I have a passive roof turbine on the cabin and with the door or windows open downstairs on the cool side that pulls in cool air and expels the hot air so very little AC needed. Also helps remove toxic fumes and stale air.

That guy's effeminate snark is too annoying to watch.
I've watched a few of his videos, the series on lamps was pretty good.

No one is forcing you at gunpoint to watch. Maybe when someone responds to your posts, they should include a link to one of his videos as a form of torture. :ROFLMAO:

"A microwave uses significantly less energy than either a gas or electric oven. To use your microwave for one hour every day would cost you about half the total energy of a natural gas oven and 60% less than an electric oven."

I use a microwave all the time for fast heat ups of frozen foods, leftovers and side dishes. Faster than a toaster oven and can be run off a mid sized power station in a blackout.
