They could still be lifepo4 pouches... are you concerned that they are lithium ion...?

There’s this thread...

And this one...

I’m thinking they are lithium polymer like they use in drones. "very volatile". the only thing that’s protecting these soft pouches is the plastic casing. I believe even tesla uses 18650s or a similar type battery in there batteries. lithium iron phosphate i thought was dense and not pliable like lithium polymer. But most of all these guys are supplying something other than what’s stated I believe. Maybe I should take better pictures

LFP is available in Pouch format, more common in EV Packs actually, not for ESS.
Lion LiPo can also come in pouches.
LFP can be overcharged to 3.7 BUT it's not good...
The only way to truly verify, is to get the Markings & QR code off the cells and check.

FYI, LiPoly & LiIon (NMC/NCA etc) are significantly more expensive ! Won't find that in bargain batteries !
Also, there is 4 Pouches, therefore they are each 100AH Pouch Cells.
Just try to find 100AH LiPo cells, you won't.

You would think the BMS should have stopped the overcharge? Theres 32 packs in there. It worries the heck out of me because I’m all too familiar with lipo’s. I almost burned down my home with a 4500 3s and I know that lithium iron phosphate is far safer.

You won’t know till you know. Contact distributor and find out what chemistry they are using. You can’t tell by looking at them. Could be lipoly, could be lifepo4.

I contacted ecoworthy a few weeks back about one of their newer lifepo4 batteries... asking if they used pouches or cells.... still no reply..

I was able to find along with the packaging information on the website of the place I purchased the battery from and it says its lithium polymer but on the battery it says lithium iron phosphate. So apparently, they are aware. Dirty dogs

I believe it was Will that opened a LiTime mini and found pouch cells, which explained the smaller size.
LiPuls also has the same size mini. When I asked the cell type, they replied they used prismatics…

Lipo fires do happen not like your handling nitroglycerin if they charge to 3.65 instead of the usual 4.2V for a lipo probably never have any issues. RC aircraft usually discharge at 50-100C which would be considered abusive worst I have seen is swelling. I continue to use those swelled packs as long as they have capacity. I charge mine in a fireplace because I assume if there is a fire good place to have one.

Personally, I have only seen one that actually caught fire after hitting the ground at 100+ MPH. Another one that was charging outside had been dented badly in a crash. There are videos, and lots of stores of them catching fire in homes those even in normal use are considered abused compared to solar use. I don't trust lithium batteries to be left unattended charging one reason I'm putting my lifep04 DIY pack in a shed 50 feet away from my home only because risk of homeowners insurance not paying for a non-UL certified battery system.
