I just received a hybrid mini split from signature solar with 4x 395w panels. I plan to get the mini installed then address the solar. I'm unsure if I will need to have rapid shutdown, in order to be code complaint. Assuming, the wiring goes from the roof down the side of the house then into the mppt on the mini split. My second question would be, if RSD is required then how can this be wired if there is no inverter? Thanks for any input!

You'll need a PV isolation switch to disconnect the array from the mini-split.

For NEC 2017 or newer

If roof mounted, you'll need model level shutdown, i.e., a device on each panel that automatically isolates the panel from the array.

You could still do module level shutdown with some Tigo fire safety devices and a transmitter to activate them fed from a power supply.
Interrupt the power to the Tigo transmitter to shut off your panels.

So I would just need tigo devices for each panel and a transmitter. Then interrupt the power to that transmitter with a switch?

I would go with a version of the Tigo product that offers statistics, just because it will be interesting to look at the data on your phone. The cost of optimizers for 4 panels is minimal, it will be under $200. I ended up going with the TS4-A-O optimizers for one string and the TS4-A-S for the string that is not going to get any shade. the A-S product does shutdown and optimization and is just a few $ less than the A-O product.
