@Will Prowse also has an excellent video on top balancing here:

As with all of my content, comments, corrections, suggestions and reviews are always welcome. As I get feedback I will incorporate it into the document.

Note: A big shout-out to @Dzl and @TommyD for help in editing and clarifying the document.

Updates:
  • Significant wording changes for clarity (based on reviewers comments.
  • Added an appendix describing the difference between Balanced and Matched Cells.
Note: This resource is a duplicate of the resource of the same name in the 'Beginners' resource Section. This resource is linked to the same download file.

Terrific, and so helpful for a hard head like me. I love the video's, but your material is so well laid out and easy to follow. Having watched many videos by Will and others, having clear written information really helps etch it into my noggin. Much easier than play, pause rewind, play, pause. Repeat, Repeat. Hahaha Thank you.
Thanks, this was really helpful, especially the bit about Stepwise Balancing as it is how I was thinking of taking care of the two packs I’m building with a big investment in additional equipment I’d only use once.

The discussion of why you are more likely to top vs bottom balance was helpful as well.
This really simplified the why and what of balancing. Thanks!
This clarified top and bottom balancing for me. Definitely well worth the read!
