You need a USB to serial convertor, if your PC does not have a serial port. The software to update the firmware uses a serial port (COM 1, COM 2, etc.) to communicate with the inverter. There are two devices in the inverter with firmware that can be updated.

Yeah you need a USB to serial converter. Cheap and normally easy to acquire.

The message reads "voltage and or frequency is out of range" from the first post. Perhaps the frequency is off.

Did you put a meter on the input to verify the voltage on the display and meter agree? L1 and L2?

Looking at the user manual, page 49, program 34, "Wide AC input range". It is disabled by default. No other data, no clue what it does.

Yeah I tend to use email most because cell service out here is spotty on days. Checked on the website, it said to call on weekends, so I did, left a message. But, why offer email support/communication line if it is neglected?

I know an old thread... Sent an "email" via Trophy Battery contact page 22 days ago. No reply. Sent an "email" via Trophy Battery contact page last week. No reply. The message last week, not a big deal. The one 22 days ago gives me pause, assuming nothing out of the ordinary has caused the delay.
