    Deye: PE and case Grounding

I think you get L and PEN (PE + N together) from grid (TN-C). You need to separate the PEN (TN-C-S). So PEN to PE busbar. Connect local grounding rod to this busbar too. A different N busbar ... connect PE busbar to it. It is "the bond". From here you have a different PE and N ... connect...

    Fault/ warning 32. Help please.

There is no Fault 32 ... only Warning 32 :) http://www.mppsolar.com/manual/PIP-MAX/PIP%20MAX%2011KW%20manual.pdf The error is: "Communication failure between inverter and remote display panel" So your display is not plugged in correctly :)

    ARC fault

I am not sure AFDD could catch little arks like these. Here they tested (with DiY lego tester) after how many Watts will the AFDD disconnect if there is an arc. Also ... epic AFDD song ?

Newbie from Portugal building a house :)

Do they want to kill grid-tie solar systems ? Now when the whole EU is in energy crisis ? 20 French nuclear reactor is shut down for maintenance ... Germany blow up 3 .... propane prizes gone through the roof ... Russia stopped propane export to EU. So this winter we have enough in storage...

Worst than horrible ? Which country is this ? It makes no sense to sell a Wh with these conditions.

Newbie from Portugal building a house :)

You have a 1:9 sell/buy ratio ? Where? Residential or industrial tariff ? Horrible :o The almost 1 EURO price too. The 1:6 ratio in Germany is bad enough. But this ... really makes no sense to sell anything to the grid. And the utility company sells it to your neighbour with 9x profit.

Newbie from Portugal building a house :)

Here in Hungary we have a balance tariff. And it is a yearly balance. So what you sell on summer you can consume on winter. If you overproduce and the sell-buy is positive then you got almost nothing for that. But who cares if you can heat the house in winter from the summer PV generation.

    The price was about 0,37 €/kWh for 2021. Now I made a price calculation for a yearly 5.000 kWh in different cities in Germany (2023 prices). Berlin : 2.583,30 € -> 0,52 €/kWh Hamburg: 2.619,30 € -> 0,52 €/kWh Frankfurt: 3.538,49 € -> 0,71 €/kWh München: 3.592,37 € -> 0,72 €/kWh...

This is not EU. It is global. And you still do not understand the hybrid inverters. Only AC coupling. No other workaround. If you know any other, please name it :) You are completely wrong. Still ... you do not understand the "WITH GRID SUPPORT" part :D Did you never saw an MPP Solar...

How to solve N/G bond problem with my cheap AIO ?

First hybrid means grid-tie + off-grid. That can sell to grid. Please learn first the name of the system EASun started this marketing BS that they sell Hybrids ... because it sounds "better" Really they only misleading the customers. They sell Off-grid (with grid support) inverters...

How to solve N/G bond problem with my cheap AIO ?

Does EASun have a support ? :devilish: My only experience is that they want to get rid of you. And even when you reach them ... non working Firmware upgrades, do not want to replace dead on arrival inverters ... etc
  12. mrzed001

Newbie from Portugal building a house :)

Nope. You did not read my post thoroughly. EU is basically Grid-Tie only. Different types of grid-tie ... but only grid-tie. Again, read my post. Off-grid with grid support systems HAVE GRID ! And this is nonsense. If you have a simple Grid-tie like Fronius Symo/Primo, SolarEdge, Huawei...

Newbie from Portugal building a house :)

Ireland is a part of EU that I know very little. Germany, Austria and the neighborhood I know. Here there were the off-grid installs non existent. Only for some farms or chalets which is too expensive to connect it to the grid. Grid-tie's however are common (5-50 kW average 9kW). Like in a...

Newbie from Portugal building a house :)

Nope. EU is waaaay behind US in off-grid system installs. We have a LOT of grid-tie ... but off-grid way less (hybridized grid-tie's without backup box count as grid-tie, sincs in a blackout they stop working even they have a battery installed). In the last 2 year it changed but still there is...

Hybrid Inverters - Split load between PV+GRID

Not recommending EASun. Not because it is a cheap clone of the MPP Solar inverter. But we had a lot of problems with them. Loose screws making short circuit inside. Cables not connected in the inside. Dead on arrival ... etc. And EASun does not like to replace it under warranty. If you fight for...

Which 2022 hybrid solar inverters can do export from battery to grid?

Work mode timer ... it seems to be the Deye "time of use" So it can be done with RS485 :)

Which 2022 hybrid solar inverters can do export from battery to grid?

There is the Solarman web cloud thing for it. Never ever tried that :) Also RS485 is a possibility. But again never .... For monitoring RS485 works with Solar Assistant. But to change settings ... good question.

Hybrid Inverters - Split load between PV+GRID

If there is a blackout your inverter will give you power from PV It is a solar UPS after all :) And there will be floating ground :)

Which 2022 hybrid solar inverters can do export from battery to grid?

Deye can sell from battery to grid ... so I would be surprised if Sol-Ark can not. Selling First mode:

280 EVE vs 302 CATL for camper.

Better things usually cost more ... that is true. A real GRADE A cell costs more than a GRADE B (or B+) cell ... that is true too. Everyone has to decide that the extra quality is cost effective or not for them. CATL cells many times arrive already a bit bloated. With B+ EVE cells I never saw...

Beginning a Victron ESS for self consumption - correctly rated fuses and cables?

I know some EU country regulations and in most cases the Off-grid systems (under 50kW) do not need any permissions. Also there is some confusion about the meaning of Off-grid It has a history ... 40+ years ago Off-grid meant to be completely separated from grid. 35 years ago with the UPS...

280 EVE vs 302 CATL for camper.

EVE 280Ah cells are a bit better, because they have stronger aluminium cases. So they do not bloat as easily as the CATL cells. This is maybe the only real difference :)

Beginning a Victron ESS for self consumption - correctly rated fuses and cables?

With 16 cells I would use a 48V system. So a 8000VA 48V Multiplus II for example. Quattro is for double AC input like a generator. No need for that :) Also one JK BMS is enough. And you are right, do not float an LFP battery :) If the battery is full, charging needs to stop. There is no...

Can my new Grid-Tie Sunsynk battery system be used Off-Grid?

Sunsynk inverters are really Deye. There are real hybrid inverters. They have an AC_in and an AC_out port. Everything you connect to the AC_out port gets UPS power. The transfer time is 4ms. So not even your PC or TV will recognize the blackout or brownout. https://www.sunsynk.org/about-1...

    New from Europe

? Exactly. Many use them in Germany on the walls and balkon. Balkonkraftwerk MPP Solar (same as Voltronic Axpert) inverters can be bought from Taiwan. 5kW MGX is one of the best sellers with the 500Voc MPPT. And it can do that the grid consumption is lowered by the current PV production...

    New from Europe

Use the EU simulator :) It has an off-grid option. So it will tell how many kWp PV, how many kWh battery, with how many daily kWh use will be enough. https://re.jrc.ec.europa.eu/pvg_tools/en/ Generator is cheap but not an UPS. Needs time to start. Also very loud. If you start it at night...

Safety hazard w/ Growatt 5000ES (European version) when connected to American grid

It has a PE-N relay as all Voltronic inverters like MPP Solar. So when battery mode then it connects N_out to PE. When line mode it connects N_in to N_out.

    grounding on pip8048max

It is not allowed to break or switch PE in any case. You have a grounding rod so you will not feed back fault current. RCBO's and RCD's only work because you have a good grounding. If grounding is bad, big resistance ... then they work less. ATS only switches Line and Neutral. Never the ground.

    grounding on pip8048max

By star topology I mean 1 busbar where all the PE lines connect. There should be no other connection between PE cables. This is one star for the the house side. The same for the garage side. And the centrals (busbars) need to be connected like this: On both side 1-1 grounding rod...

    grounding on pip8048max

Use this calculators. Stay below 3% (better below 2% loss) https://photovoltaic-software.com/solar-tools/voltage-drop-calculator-dc-ac Here it needs to be better than 10 Ohm. I would put 4m (or 2x2m) grounding rod next to the house. Also at least 2m next to the garage. There is only one...

    grounding on pip8048max

Even 16mm2 cable would be enough ... so 35mm2 is overkill :) The two pairs in separate cables would be safer. Also if you have PV on garage, you need a ground rod there too (and one on your house side of course ). They (busbars) need to be connected with az least 16mm2 copper. PE-N bond on your...

    grounding on pip8048max

Not the best explanation video. You have TN-C-S. There is a bond (a separation) from utility PEN to PE and N (here before the meter, many times after the meter ... no difference). I used a manual transfer switch in the picture (that is allowed everywhere ... with ATS devices there are sometimes...
