110AC lamp rewired for 12v DC with 12v bulbs, is it that simple?

So I have a couple of regular 110v lamps that could work well for my camping situation if they were 12v DC.

Is it as simple as re-wiring the lamps to 12v DC terminations and using a 12v bulb in the existing bulb fixture?

If the DC bulb fits into the AC fixture, then it's okay. You just need to take into account the fixture's, switch's, power cord's and DC plug's ability to handle the wattage. Definitely test it for an extended time before installing it in your tent, camper or trailer/RV to insure it's safe.

To be on the safe side, change the 120VAC plugs to something else, so no one accidentally plugs the 12VDC lamp into a 120VAC outlet.
