I want to install a 12KW or 14KW system with Growatt string inverter. I do not like Micro-Inverter due to their lack of output on bifacial panels and I do not like optimizer due to just being another component that can break and actually will have internal friction. I have 180° azimuth and zero trees. I have installed on 4 homes solar before which were all mine. But the last one being 8 years ago. Now with all the new codes, do I need to have rapid shut down on a string inverter system or is the internal RSD switch in Growatt enough or and external main Disconnect.
Or is it mandatory required to have on each panel a RSD module these days.
Also, do you guys know a engineering bureau, where I can get my plans designed and stamped? As the engineer should know all the needs as well. I actually plan on putting panels on a carport all self made. That way I don't have to deal with the insurance to get dropped or a raised premium. Carport will be 12x50ft so enough space for Bifacial panels to produce about 18kWh to 20kWh
