12V 280Ah LiFePo4 battery Build and Test

If your cells are like mine then they have steel helicoils in them so aluminium bolts will actually be worse than just using steel.

I don't see any evidence of an insert.
I'll look closer when I get home.

I bought same 4 Lifepo4 280 off aliexpress(paid $170 more yuks), came 3wks ago, bought craftsman toolbox, also have Daly 150a (separate) Lifepo4 BMS, but found out high volt detect is 3.75+-.025(too high), low Volt detect 2.2(too low), also AiLi Tr16 current display, guage meter, copper bars 1" 1/4. Came 3.33,3.33,3.34, 3.30 new. Now thinking different BMS like overkill 120 w/8awg, but may just stay with Daly 150a for 6awg cables.

I run a fridgadare 420w, 4.2a, 5000btu High efficiency AC direct to inverter and my 180ah lipo. It will run for 4.5hrs, with 280ah 7.5 without solar charging.

My BMS is still sitting in California and I have no idea why. 3 weeks at some mystery partner that is supposed to get it to the post office. Never ordering through AliExpress again. Alibaba worked just fine, but I'm starting my 3rd month waiting for the delivery.

I ordered from Aliexpress, but you can specify ship from..... at top of page and put United States, ordered lots from Aliexpress and generally no probs, although today I recieved a bicycle bag that I ordered 2.5 mths ago and some crossbow arrows for Cobra R9 adder repeater, 2 mths suspect Corona delay, also ordered Huawei Honor Magic 2 smartwatch and it took 1 week. The Daly ordered june 9 recieved july 1, it has to clear customs, took bout 1 wk from Los Angeles 90040. I'm balancing cells and waiting for more copper bars. I originally had hose clamps but saw not recommended ( Ideally clamp plates at either end), but I'll use heavy duty wide tape and foam to wedge together tight with painter stir sticks inbetween for cooling.

I ordered a Daly and a tester at the same time (first of May) and the other 2 only show that they were handed to the airline and left China in June, nothing else.

I ordered a cheep capacity tester from one of the vendors on Aliexpress and have the same situation, stuck at newgistics in Los Angeles for the last 4 weeks.

Its clearly lost but I'll need to wait until they officially declare it as such i guess - 90 days or something like that. I opened a dispute and they just told me to wait for it. I just bought one from amazon in the meantime I didn't want to wait to test my cells.

After seeing your post, I thought about the shipping partner. Mine said "INTERNATIONAL BRIDGE", so I never thought that it was a company I could seek information from. I searched for it and lo and behold they have their own tracking system.
I ran my number and got the whole travel story that has not been available through AliExpress tracking, Track17, nor USPS.
There are huge gaps where it just sat in multiple places. It took a month to go from one warehouse to another in Shenzen.
Looks like it finally left the warehouse in San Bruno for the post office yesterday. We shall see...

I filed disputes for all orders before they expired. Of course they denied them and said to pay more attention to my postal service.
Had they provided information on what service to track through, I may have been less upset. Not giving a damn about whether your customers receive what they paid for and closing their ability to file a claim before they receive the item is not a business model I can support.

When ordering from Aliexpress, toggle "ship from" and it will show if you product can ship from warehouse in United States 5-7 days usually. Lotsa people ordering online due to panda demic.

https://photos.google.com/direct/AF.../AF1QipMt1yogn2WyEpMy98X_mYBNrYlR7Vlhjz1BGtU0 This is my setup so far, just enclosed the batteries with wood and corner bars with hose clamp in middle to put pressure on wood slats, most pressure is on the ends inward, made the sides shorter so pressure from ends inward, total weight with case is 50lbs, case weighs 15 lbs with 66lb capacity. Waiting for copper to complete, as I need 3x 4" length and TR16 current guage. Daly 150a(separate) will be screwed into side board on backside.

There was no such option at the stores I used.
I have seen Italy and Russia listed, but I have yet to see something on there I can have shipped from the US.

Here is snapshot, look at top toggle United states and you'll see the BMS that ships from USA. 1595504907235.png

FINALLY!!!! My BMS arrived today!
Only 86 days in transit. Jeeeeez! I'm exhausted from checking the tracking numbers.
There is one corner that tore a hole in the padded envelope they shipped it in. The temperature sensor wires look pretty beat up. Other than that, it seems in fairly good condition.
The packaging was not ESD protective, so hopefully it will work.
Contractors should be here any minute, so no time tonight to tinker.
I'll post pics of how I deal with the multiple wires coming off the PWB to the crimps.

That seems like only 120a 4s bms with BT inputs for settings. Wonder if it has active balancing. The Daly 250a smart BMS only for 5s and above for imputs so a no go for 4s. My 150a Daly apparently only balances above 3.6volts.

Just to add from the back page about dissimilar metal corrosion. I usually use this chart or another I can't find right now to see if I am going to have a problem. I've seen some of this corrosion happen so fast that I always check now.

It has passive balancing and I'm ok with that. Hopefully active balancing will become the standard later, but this early in the life of lithium battery building, it makes sense that passive has been the method for the low cost BMS makers. When one maker breaks through with a cheap active balancer, the rest will follow rather than lose all their sales.
