My small 400W solar system came with 8AWG wire to connect the battery to the charge controller. The battery ends have lugs with a stud ring for connecting to the battery terminals, but the ends to connect to the charge controller are just loose stranded wire. It's always a challenge when connecting to the charge controller to get those ends into the charge controller terminals and firmly seated without the ends fraying.

I would like to terminate the charge controller end of the battery wires with some kind of lug that would be easier to seat into the charge controller and clamp down. Is there something that others recommend or currently use? I would do the same with the 10AWG PV cable as well since their ends are also just stranded ends and subject to fraying too.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

you can use a Ferrules on fine strand wire but look at equipment manufacturers recommend wire victron recommends a fine strand without any ferrules for better contact
