Amp load per cell that are in series

Hi,

I want to make sure that I am not exceeding the C rating of my lifepo4 20AH batteries. I have 4S config and the inverter was pulling 40A . does that mean it is 10A per cell which is 0.5C in my case?

In series connected cells any current flow must be via each cell in the series group. If the load takes 40 amps then the current flow through the battery , and thus each cell, is 40 amps, 2C for your 20Ah cells.

Parallel divvies amps.
Series divvies volts.
