what is best way to connect 8 solar panels with the following specs, and also what spec charge controller would be needed. ? peak power=250w,vmpp=30v, lmpp=8.34A,vOC=37.41v, lsc=8.79A, max series fuse=15A. 24v battery

When checking my design with chatgpd, it suggested all in paralell, surely that is not correct?

Why did you do that?

Why are you baffled by the results of a bit of software that implements a large language model neural network algorithm?

All it can do is just regurgitate sequences of words that it has harvested from the Internet. ChatGPT has no real life concept of what a solar panel is, nor a charge controller.

Eight 250 watt panels via a MPPT controller into a 24 volt battery is 80 amps, the controller must be rated for this.
Using Victron product, 85 amp units are available at either 150 volts or 250 volt input. An alternative would be two controllers.

Option, two series strings of 4 panels, connected in parallel to Victron 250/85.

There are options, minimum string is 2 panels, ( max power at 30 volts is a bit low for a 24 volt system) , so 4 strings of two panelsl, 2 strings of 4 panels.
