After buying my first solar generator strictly for backup power, I realized that it didn't have some basic features such as its not useable while charging which makes no sense whatsoever. Now I'm trying to figure out what other features I should look for in my next one. What features are important to you? TIA.

If you like to use solar for charging, get one that can handle at least 1000 watts of solar input and 60 volt or higher solar input voltage.
If you want to keep it in the same room, make sure to get one that doesn't make noise (< 40dB)
If you want to check its status, make sure it has Wi-Fi (or at least Bluetooth).
I would go with a unit that has an inverter rating of at least 2000 watts continuous and 3000-4000 watt over-load.
I would go with a unit that has at least 2000-3000 Watt-hour battery storage.
Right now most of them are on sale. A unit with above ratings is going for ~$1500 but spend $2500 if you really want something that is going to be useful.
