i have 5 250w panels in series 27.28 voc 10.51 amp my cc is victron 150/45 , i am using a 6 string combiner box, i want to add another panel, what is the best way to string panels ? this is for off grid cabin , my inverter is 24v 3000w
i am a rookie, bit i am learning bit by bit , thanks in advance ,

If they are all in open sun, mounted together, with no shading issues, 2 parallel strings of 3 in series.

+1

If shading is an issue, 2S3P may be marginally better. Sources of panel shading should be removed by any means necessary.

Your MPPT can handle about 45A * 29V = 1305W, so 6 of your 250W panels are about right at 1500W - slightly overpaneled, but not so much that you'll actually lose much.

The 6th panel must have highly similar specs as the other 5. Panels in parallel need to have highly similar Vmp, and panels in series will all operate at the lowest rated current, e.g., 8A panels in series with 10A panels will limit the 10A panels to 8A.

if i do 2 parallel strings of 3 in series can i plug directly into combiner box or do i use splitters.
thanks in advance for help
