Who out here has a recipe for some of the good biscuits and gravy they make in the "holler" of Kentucky, west Virginia?

I remember as a kid going to visit family up there eating these biscuits and gravy. I remember the biscuits being cooked on the top of a wood stove in cast iron.

I like Biscuits and Gravy when I go camping, but I don't have time to cook them. I go camping to do things, not to cook. I buy the biscuits in a can. Pillsbury Grands Homestyle Butter. Gravy in a bottle.

My wife modified my Nana's Southern Virginia biscuits and gravy recipe, it's the best.

-2 cups milk
-1 LB of your preferred sausage
-Black AND white pepper, to taste, WHITE PEPPER IS THE SECRET
-Garlic powder or saute a small amount of fresh garlic with the sausage
-Onion powder
-Flour, amount depends on how greasy your meat is, and how thick you like gravy

The trick is to leave the whole pound of sausage in the gravy, it makes it super flavorful and chunky. We always make it in cast iron. Unfortunately, I don't have her biscuit recipe.
