Can I add a Victron MPPT to a grid tie battery inverter?

I have a grid tie Sofar ME3000SP connected to the grid and to a 48V battery. At the moment it’s charging the battery at night at a cheap rate and discharging it during the day. The inverter communicates to a Seplos BMS.

Can I add a Victron Smartsolar MPPT and a couple of solar panels to harness a little solar energy and charge the battery during the day as well, at the same time the inverter discharges it? Any reason why this wouldn’t work?

Many of have separate DC solar.
If you are tracking SoC and your DC solar does not go thru the shunt, it will get out of sync.

The shunt is inside the bms; if DC solar isn’t going through the bms then it’s not going into the battery, hence it should be fine
